The Targus drive worked perfectly right out of the box just like things are supposed to. No surprises, which to me is a big plus. This was purchased to use on an Acer One netbook and the usb power versus having to have an a/c adapter was important. The device didn't disappoint. It there was any surprise, it was the noticeably high quality of the product. It is well built, runs very quietly. I recommend it if you need a portable drive.
