4 of 5 seems pretty good for the money Thursday, September 28, 2006 Roberto from New York, NY
The scale was shipped promptly and well packaged and it arrived undamaged. The batteries were already installed (lithiums I think)so there was nothing to do but unwrap it and use it.
The appearence of the scale is decent i.e. not cheap looking, though not an heirloom either and will fit in most any decor.
The ease of use couldn't be simpler,- just tap your foot on top to activate the display and jump on! (it does require a fairly hard tap, but not ridiculously so) The display is very adequate and easy to read. As far as accuracy, it seems good enough so far. (I've only had this scale a couple of weeks)I tested it with a 45 LB barbell weight and it read 44.8, off only 2/10's a pound out of 45. And that was exactly repeated after two weeks additional usage as well. So it appears consistent as well as pretty accurate. All in all I think it's a good simple scale for the money and perhaps even as good as higher priced scales because the I'd bet the same or similiar sensors are probably used anyway in fancier models. For someone who wants a basic reliable scale go for it. I did do a few hours of research before deciding on the Tanita brand as it became clear they have a reputation for quality. I was not disappointed. I'll check back here with a long term review in a year or so:>) Was this review helpful?
