Features: DVD, Dolby, Dolby Digital (5.1), English, Spanish, French The Crypt Keeper, "one of the hardest working stiffs in show biz," introduces a funny frightmare that unfolds with the help of a viciously versatile cast. The fearsome fun begins as a mysterious renegade named Brayker (William Sadler) is forced to defend a motley crew of boarding-house residents armed with sacred blood, automatic weapons and really strong stomachs, from a legion of insatiable demons. Leading the forces of darkness is the Collector (Billy Zane), a charismatic soul-taker who is determined to regain possession of an ancient talisman from Brayker. Jada Pinkett (A Low Down Dirty Shame) plays Jeryline, a young boarder with a troubled past, who joins Brayker in his quest to defeat the grisly invaders at their own game. "...gross-out gore and a fair share of t&a. " Leonard Maltin's Movie & Video Guide "...a fang-in-cheek horror thriller..." Variety
 Editor's Note
The Collector, a mysterious force of evil, hungers for possession of a key that will give him access to the monsters of Hell. But he cannot get the precious object away from Brayker, the key's guardian. The two begin an apocalyptic struggle, as The Collector summons carnivorous demons and orders them to destroy any obstacles to the key. But the key has provided Brayker with a magical talisman to keep him safe: the sacred blood of Jesus Christ. However, this power begins to weaken with time, and Brayker must come up with another form of protection... or else his flesh will be dessert.

| | Professional Reviews | USA Today "...Full-throttle direction makes for fitful, frightful fun..." 02/03/1995 p.4DEntertainment Weekly "...A big-budget gore movie that actually delivers the low-budget goods....Consistently fun." -- Rating: A- 07/21/1995 p.73 Variety "...A fang-in-cheek horror thriller that likely will please fans....Zane takes top acting honors, playing the Collector with a winning mix of insinuating menace and smart-alecky flamboyance..." 01/16/1995 New York Times "...The movie has a good time spoofing itself....[With] a look and tone that bring a comic-book's broad strokes into the realm of a live-action movie....The movie wears a phosphorescent grin..." 01/13/1995 p.C20 Los Angeles Times "...Zane is wittily seductive..." 01/13/1995 p.F12 Los Angeles 6 of 10 If ever there was a show-biz survivor, it's the Crypt Keeper. After being blacklisted in the '50s when "Tales From the Crypt," his horror comic book, was accused of polluting the minds of young readers, the Crypt Keeper re-emerged a few years back to host his own bloody HBO series, which also airs on Fox, presumably with the gore trimmed down--but you never know with Fox. - David Kronke San Francisco Chronicle 6 of 10 As Dickerson remarked in the press notes that accompany this movie, "Demon Knight is the kind of movie where your popcorn all winds up on the ceiling."True enough: The gore is frequent and generous, including an unforgettable image of Brayker dying while a pack of demons makes a juicy buffet from his eviscerated guts. I've got to give credit to Todd Masters, who designed the special-effects makeup, to Gilbert Adler, who directed the Crypt Keeper sequences, and to Zane, who plays the Collector with style and wit. If I were 12, I might've loved it. - Edward Guthmann
