| | | Features: DVD SWINGERS is an ensemble comedy about five guys, all in their twenties, all coping with the mysteries of life and women. The film was shot and directed by Doug Liman from an original screenplay by actor-screenwriter Jon Favreau (Rudy).
Favreau plays Mike, a guy who's down in the dumps because he left his girlfriend behind in New York when he came to Hollywood to seek his acting fortune. Instead, he's found loneliness and the blues. Now, after six months of dealing with Mike, his buddy Trent (Vince Vaughn) and the other swingers have had enough. It's time to bring Mike back to life.
SWINGERS is set in the back streets and sometimes hidden clubs of Hollywood. It's a story told in the language of the "cocktail nation."
 Editor's Note
Hauling his sentimental friend out of his postbreakup funk, a club-hopping swinger takes him on a hilarious odyssey through the dating game of the 1990s, hitting the Vegas strip, fashionable martini lounges, and other modern hunting grounds of the opposite sex.
 Plot Summary
SWINGERS follows insecure Mike and smooth-talking Trent, two retro-hip showbiz wanna-bes, as they make the scene at various clubs in Hollywood and Vegas. During their martini-fueled odyssey, the duo and their buddies explore an altogether new vernacular while struggling with images of machismo, self-esteem, relationships, and, of course, sex. Lead actor Jon Favreau based the script on his and his friends' real-life Tinseltown adventures.

5 of 5 The Essential Movie of the 90's. Thursday, August 19, 1999 Jay from Somervile, NJ
Swingers is the best of the best and will certainly go down as one of the best movies of the 90's. Catapulting stars John Favreau and Vince Vaughn and Director Doug Liman into the Hollywood spotlight this is a sure-fire laughfest. The film also features the ultra-cool modern swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy before they gained big time success. Guys AND girls will certainly enjoy a night on the town with Swingers. 5 of 5 Great movie Saturday, August 07, 1999 A Viewer from Miami, Fl
This movie was really good, I watched it on my first date with my girl. Not a bad date movie, and answers a lot of long wondered dating questions, such as how long to wait after getting a girl's number before calling. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Swingers is THE comedy of the nineties. Monday, July 05, 1999 John (jasj from NJ
Swingers is an instant cult classic which examines the complexities and follies of dating in the 90's. It is a hilarious movie which rocket-launched the careers of Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, and Ron Livingston. If you haven't seen it, rent it. If you've already seen it, buy it.
