| Author Bio| Jimmy Buffett | | Jimmy Buffett is famous as a laid-back songwriter and performer, but he is also a writer of fiction for both adults and children. He was raised in the South, on the Gulf of Mexico, where his father was a shipbuilder, and his love for the sea has never left him. He graduated as a journalism major from the University of Southern Mississippi. After the release of his first album, he settled in Key West, but it wasn't until his song "Margaritaville" became a hit that he was able to pursue his dream of traveling by boat along the Gulf Stream and to the Caribbean.
