This card is a fantastic way to add 8 sata ports to any computer with a pci or pci-x slot. It's priced well below most other 8 port cards. I used this to build 2 Windows Home Servers (I've purchased 3 of these cards) and it works extremely well for that. I cannot comment on RAID functionality (if there even is any), since WHS doesn't need RAID. The only drawback is that PCI is a bit slow, so the card's performance is not great, but it's more than adequate for file storage and streaming media which is how I use it. I was really impressed that the card came with 8 quality SATA cables which fit really snuggly into the card. Installation was a breeze for the card itself (although finding a way to manage all the 8 cables can be tricky at first). Overall, this is one of the best add on card purchases I've made ever!
