 Editor's Note
Following the lead of the retooled BATMAN cartoons, the legendary Man of Steel gets his own modernized update in SUPERMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES. Operating under the auspices of meek, bespectacled alter ego Clark Kent, Superman continues to champion truth and justice while battling criminals in the bustling city of Metropolis. The series ran from 1996 to 2000 and has been acclaimed for remaining true to the original SUPERMAN comic books while introducing new and exciting storylines and characters. This release presents the first three volumes of episodes from the show.

| | Professional Reviews | EyeCraveDVD.com 9 of 10 Following the incredible triumph of Batman: The Animated Series, the innovative minds at Warner Brothers Animation decided to try their hand at the character that inspired the style of their Batman cartoon in the first place Ð Superman. Marching to the beat of their own drum, Bruce Timm, Paul Dini and the rest of the crew decided to tone down Superman's powers so things became more of a struggle and more perilous, while still being faithful to the original comic book material. Also, the visual style of Superman's Metropolis was brought into a more futuristic and colorful backdrop, while finally, stories were set in a more sci-fi atmosphere in keeping with the origins of the character...The result was another incredible success.
