Notes & Personnel Info | | Personnel: Zach Gill (vocals, guitar, banjo, piano, keyboards, percussion). | | Audio Mixer: Robert Carranza. | | As the keyboardist and singer for Animal Liberation Orchestra, Zach Gill has already crafted a laid-back sound that is equal parts adult alternative pop, blue-eyed soul, and jam band groove. Gill brings that same tasty fusion to STUFF, his 2008 solo debut. Although Gill and the ALO are associated with Jack Johnson (the two were college friends and current labelmates), Gill's leadoff track, "Family," and piano-based ditties like "Bettina" recall the classic, feel-good sounds of the Doobie Brothers and the literate pop of Elton John in equal measures. Yacht rock hasn't died, it's just been updated, and Zach Gill's STUFF ushers in the genre's new face. | Producer: Robert Carranza; Adam Topol; Zach Gill | Engineer: Robert Carranza | Musical Guests | | Jack Johnson | | Tristan Prettyman |
