Street Fighter IV - 33011

After buying the game and playing miserably for two weeks on the xbox 360, I thought that maybe I needed a game pad to fully appreciate this game. I bought the official pads made by Madcatz (got Blanka) and played it for a few more weeks. I finally realized that it wasn't the controller. That was just the way the game worked. It was hard to do the combos that the computer would use. It was much easier to just repeat the same cheap attacks over and over again. Even playing on Xbox Live, it was easier to just play cheap as everyone else seems to do it. Alternate game play involves Time, Survival, and Combo "Training" modes. Needless to say, the game gets very boring very quickly. I would've given this game a 1, but I like how detailed and fluid the characters are when they fight and move. Rent this game if you're curious; otherwise, just stay away from it.

This is a review of the collectors edition of the game (360 version). It comes with a C. Viper figure instead of teh RYu figure that the PS3 comes with. The figure is cute, but in a perpetual flying kick pose. It is samll, abotu 2 inches by 1 inch. It comes with a CD of Blah sounding ingame music. Some sounded liek htey were based on the old ingame music, but is was pretty soft overall. I havent had a chance to view the DVD yet. The game itself is much more like street fighter 3 in gmaeplay. The timing doesnt feel as smotth as SF2. The game is good overall, but the AI is very cheap. Even on the easiest difficuly level if you monitor it, it ramps up the difficulty and strings together combos that whould be reserved for higher difficulty levels, forcing you to also fight cheap. This is an old Capcom trait. I also also don't think this game is balanced for the different characters playstyles. I am playing with the standard 360 controller, which is NOT ideal. Get this to play against friends and online, not against the poorly prorammed AI. Will add DVD reviw in future. ALso comes with a code for extra costumes, which are a waste of money. SO far, dont buy special edition, standard is good enough.
