| | Street Dreams isn't just about Fabolous' fantasies come true. It's a combination of his experiences and growth between the making of his first album, Ghetto Fabolous, and the creation of gem number two Street Dreams. "It's the same kind of music. But there's a little maturity to it now. Places I've been. Things I've done," he explains. "With 'Ghetto Fabolous' I was just a person making an album and trying to achieve what I wanted to do. And now that I'm successful, 'Street Dreams' is the album after the success." But in reality, Street Dreams" will undoubtedly continue Fabolous' impressive track record. With Street Dreams, Fabolous is a little different. He's older. Wiser. More perceptive. And more aware of what he wants to do and what he needs to do. This time around, Fab knows it's okay to dream and have fun. But he's also learned that after cloud nine clears; you better have your business in mind. "I try to motivate street people, make them focus on what they want to do. At a certain point in life, you have to get focused," he says. Before pausing and adding with a smile, "And if I'm dreaming, I don't want to wake up." "He sticks defiantly to formula, hustling a string of synth-heavy, syncopated club jams." Blender "Fabolous proves once again that he has a flair for infectious club-ready singles." Billboard

However, while his rhymes were certainly palatable, his outer brash persona belied a subtle wit and unique way of looking at the world. His skills survive the sophomore jinx with the satisfying STREET DREAMS, a hypnotic tour through a familiar world, but with an appealingly organic tour guide. | | Fabolous opens STREET DREAMS with an intro that closes with the declaration "I'm here to shake up the world." His twisted outlook (rhymes like "phenomenon" and "Ramadan") flavors a solid record refreshingly rife with self-reflective moments like "Call Me," one of the most conflicted takes on one-night-stands, where an admirer spouts "I like the video you played P-Diddy in" (his response "yeah, right"). Fabolous is an original rap artist reflecting a thug's poetic nature on STREET DREAMS. | | Fabolous scored rather sudden hip-hop celebrity with his catchy crossover hit "Can't Deny It" and the mega-successful album GHETTO FABOLOUS, with a style showcasing the perfect balance of the hardcore and the mainstream. | | Professional Reviews | | Rolling Stone Belligerent enough to satisfy the streets but bubblegum enough to rule radio, twenty-two-year-old Brooklyn rapper Fabolous went to the bank on his debut, 2001's platinum-certified Ghetto Fabolous. His follow-up, Street Dreams, is more focused on the spoils of success (cash, cars, girls, gear) than the hustling it took to get there. Most of the time, that doesn't matter, thanks to Fab's gift of gab
