I used audio inputs (L & R) and component inputs (R, G, B), and output the signal to two TVs. I saw no reduction in video quality at 1080i. I did two tests: I compared HDMI vs component straight through without the splitter and I compared HDMI vs component through the splitter. In both cases, component was very slightly better than HDMI. I could only tell the difference when viewing a still image and comparing pixel to pixel. Because I had the same results in both tests I have determined that the splitter had no effect on the quality. The only change I'd make to this device is to place all the connections on the front & make it rack-mountable but that's probably way too much to expect at this price. I've always liked StarTech's products and they've always worked as advertised. In fact, I've never had one quit working. If you need a component splitter, buy this one!
