This enclosure is working great for me. Once I figured out that there is a screw at the bottom that holds it together, it was easy to get to the inside to attach the drive. I have used it for both IDE and SATA drives. Worked perfectly each time. It is a bit higher priced than some others, but it is a good solid enclosure. Connected easily to my Vista machine. I bought this drive because I could use it to recover an old EIDE hard drive from a computer that died and then switch over to a SATA drive if I needed to do the same thing from one of my newer computers. I also liked the fact that I could just use if for a backup drive after I was finished getting the data off of my old drive. It came with all of the parts to use either drive type and was easy to insert the drive in to, then just plug it in and it was up and operating. Was this review helpful?

I bought this product for use with both EIDE and SATA drives. I used it first to go through an older EIDE hard drive and capture names, file types, and dates of files. I then replaced that drive with a 500 gb SATA drive and used it as an external backup for my internal 400 gb drive. Easy to use and particularly valuable for those of us that have both types of drives. Was this review helpful?

Startech InfoSafe UNI3510U2 IDE/SATA Hard Drive Enclosure only took a few minutes to hook up and worked immediatly with Windows Vista. A good use for my old hard drive at a reasonable price. Was this review helpful?

I got the 3.5 USB 2.0 TO IDE/SATA Enclosure in just a couple days. It took just 15 minutes to insert the IDE hard drive and I was up and running. Windows XP did not need any drivers or anything. The transfer speeds were great for a USB connected disk. I have had no issues with this enclosure. The USB cable could have been a foot longer though. Was this review helpful?
