Before I bought this item I read some of the reviews and a couple were saying that it doesn't run on USB power. Well that's FALSE! It runs fine on USB Power.
Pros: Really quiet yet does it's job. On / Off switch is nice when you are running on battery power but still want to use the USB hub.
Cons: Doesn't really fit my 15" Macbook Pro but I added rubber slip pads to the top of the cooler and that helped a lot.
Overall: I'm very happy with the cooler and I've never heard my laptop fans kick on full blast when I'm using it even when I'm doing Heavy 3D work. Great Product! Was this review helpful?

Pro's:
1) very quiet and durable
2) USB ports and memory card reader really come in handy.
3) It perfectly fits my 14" dell.
Minor con's:
1) NOT USB-powered, therefore not very portable, although fairly lightweight.
2) USB outlets were installed 'upside-down' (not sure if it was a defect or just a design flaw). so when I use a thumb drive, which has a little led that blinks during file transefer, i can't see the led because the drive has to be plugged in upside- down.
3) Doesn't have a third fan to cool a hard drive area on a laptop. I simply push my laptop slightly off the pad to address the issue.
4) There's no bottom cover, so can't use it in your lap - something may get caught in fans.
Overall, I gave it 4 stars out of 5 just because of #2 and #3 above. Other then that this was a great purchase.

I like its Aluminium surface which helps the cooling results. The only thing I don't like is it's boundled with a useless card reader and it's impossible to get rid of if you choose USB as power supply. Also, for a "cooler on the lap", it may be too heavy to carry with, and the bottom seems little uncomfortable to put it on your body. Bottom line, this is still a great cooler if you just want it stay on the table. Was this review helpful?

This is a must for anyone that is concerned about heat build up in their laptop computer.
I can feel the difference just by placing my hand on the computer.
Having build in memory card readers is a great addition to the cooler.
You can either power the unit by the AC adapter or simply plug the cooler into one of your USB ports. (By using the USB port expect your laptop battery life to be cut in half). Either way you will be adding life to your laptop. Was this review helpful?
