5 of 5 Very Easy To Install Tuesday, January 22, 2008 Dustin from Baltimore, MD
Popped this card in my PC with no problems and had it working in minutes. I'm running XP Pro for my OS. This is a great deal and a great way to add newer USB2.0 ports to an older machine. 4 external and 2 internal will definitely be all I need. Was this review helpful?

The StarTech 6 Port USB 2.0 PCI Card Adapter worked perfectly after reboot; no diver installation was necessary. I'm using Vista Ultimate. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 StarTech Card worked well Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Peachtree City, GA
I purchased this card to upgrade an old P3. The card plugged in and has worked flawlessly since then (about 2 months now). Installation was easy with XP.
A USB card should be easy to install and you shouldn't have to think about it again. This card has definitely met my expectations. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent value Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Berlin, CT
Bought several of these to install on older Dell and Compaq machines running Windows XP. They installed easily and were recognized immediately. Worked well with flash drives. Not sure why I would pay for more expensive cards when these provide such good value. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great - great price Friday, August 31, 2007 A Customer from Utah

5 of 5 Excellent Upgrade Friday, August 10, 2007 Maunil from Yuma, AZ
I bought this card because I only had six USB slots in my computer. I occasionally ran out USB slots so I decided to buy this and it turned out to be a great upgrade. Everything works fine. This one also has two USB slots inside on the card so you can plug something in those two slots anything you like as long as you are not going to remove it for a while..

1 of 5 Not for Macintosh Saturday, August 04, 2007 jsmecham from Norman, Oklahoma
I bought this to expand the number of USB 2.0 ports in my Macintosh PowerPC G4 1.0GHz DP MDD computer running Mac OX 10.3.9. It doesn't work in this machine. I have tried several times removing and replacing it in other available PCI slots. If you have a Windows box, it works great. If you own a Mac, look at something else. Was this review helpful?

Absolutely effortless. I'm using XP; plugged it into a PCI slot and re-booted. That's it. Very pleased. Was this review helpful?

3 of 5 I would be very happy but...... Monday, May 14, 2007 judyphx1 from Phoenix, Arizona
Since we have installed the USB ports, we have not been able to install my camera, my printer or my scanner. I am in contact with the company that made it and have to go thru some steps to find out it the card is bad or just not installed correctly. I wish I could say my experience with this one was great but maybe after the kinks are all ironed out I will. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 doesn't work...yet? Wednesday, April 11, 2007 bpmd50 from Columbia, MO
Was hoping to get USB 2.0 for my few years old Dell Dimension 8300. The product installs easily and Windows drivers installed automatically. Older USB peripherals work fine, but my USB 2.0 external hard drive (my only USB 2.0 only peripheral,) which works fine on my newer laptop and through a USB 2.0 port on my network drive, isn't recognized...yet. Windows Disc Management doesn't seem to see the USB drive to be able to assign it a letter. Haven't figured it out yet. Haven't found any applicable technical help yet. But I've only spent three hours so far troubleshooting, maybe it's a motherboard problem :) Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Seemed easy, but... Wednesday, March 28, 2007 jds1239 from Harpers Ferry, WV
I bought this for an older Dell computer using windows 98. The card is advertised as compatible with Windows 98. I have a lot of experience with computers and can't make this thing work even though the installation seems to go well. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 misleading description Thursday, March 22, 2007 gmandr from fair lawn, nj
the product is not 'backwards compatible', the way is advertised. you sent me two. both of them do not work with 1.0 peripherals. i bought one from a retail store and it works.
startech is deceiving its clients with erroneous advertising

5 of 5 Simple, works, great price Thursday, February 15, 2007 A Customer from Orofino, Idaho
I have never touched a PCI card adapter in my life. I didn't even know what they were, but our computer has slower USB ports and I decided to add ports vs. replace our card IF I could. I found instructions online before I bought which made it seem pretty easy.
It came promptly, it had instructions, and the install was smooth. Windows installed its driver. And it works great. What an inexpensive upgrade. It took less than 5 minutes. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works fine Friday, February 09, 2007 A Customer from alabama
I've had this card for about 10 days now and it works fine, just as described. No problems. Plugged it in and now I have 4 USB 2 ports on an older computer that originally had only USB 1. Buy.Com had the lowest price and had fast shipping. This item is recommended! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Flawless on a Mac Saturday, January 13, 2007 Stewie from Boston, MA
Just plugged into my G4 Mac Tower, booted system, and board was recognized and usable with my iPod Video. Inexpensive USB 2.0 |
