This is an awesome product for it's price range. I just purchased a KVM for a client and paid 4 times this much. I bought this KVM for me at home. It works great. Setup in about 2 minutes. The Cables are simple and don't tangle. I recommend that if you have 2 pc's you need on 1 setup, get this KVM Was this review helpful?

This kvm switch is very good.It is very light and compact and fits on a desk pretty well. It also comes with the necessary kvm cable. Recognizes both windows and linux. My only complaint with this unit is that it only recognizes a PS/2 mouse. If you have USB mouse with a PS/2 adapter this unit does'nt recognize it. Was this review helpful?

My old KVM switch needed individual cables (mouse, KB and video), but the included cables have the mouse and KB connectors running 'inside' the video cable to the switch, which reduces cable clutter; No problems were noted in win 98 or win XP, as well as video clarity for that matter. I just set my KVM SV211K up w/ my Win 98 desktop and Win2K laptop (IBM Thinkpad T20)...yes, it only took 1-2 minutes to setup. Yes, the unit is solid, compact, and looks very 'tidy'. Yes, it switches between systems flawlessly. No surprise so far...this stuff is not exactly rocket science. BUT, HELLO??? Starview manages to screw up the only thing that matters...VIDEO QUALITY!!! Ghosting/ shadowing in 1024x768 is TRULY TERRIBLE (did not try other resolutions). Text looks just plain blurry. Icons on my desktop look like they are in 3-D. I swapped SV211K in/ out just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. I'm going to trade this puppy in for a Linksys unit asap! Was this review helpful?

I bought this switch 3 months ago to switch between my new laptop and my older desktop which I need to use for my film scanner only. It works great and It made my life much simpler at my home study where I don't have the room I do at my office.
I've since added a new workstation for video editing, so I just ordered the 3 way switch so I could use 3 machines. Great product, especially with the cables. Was this review helpful?

This was just what I needed for my home computer setup. It was easy to install and everything was included - including the cables - which, if bought separately would have made up more than 50% of the total cost. I purchased this StarView KVM switch from BUY.COM on 12/9 and received it by noon on 12/11. Installation was a breeze and I was switching between computers in only a few minutes. I love the design of this box because all of the cables connect to the back. Other lower cost switches have connections on 3 sides of the unit which is an eyesore. This unit came with 2 sets of cables which can save you $20-40 by themselves. The switch gets its power from the computers so there is no need for a power supply.
You can switch between computers by pressing a button on the switch or by a hotkey sequence (ctrl-ctrl-1 (or 2)) to select the computer. This switch is working flawlessly. I am very pleased with the design, the speedy delivery, and most of the cost.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another product from this company. Was this review helpful?
