    Used 2 of these on new computers to hook up my old but very serviceable laser printers. I had first tried converter cables, which only worked temporarily and intermittently. These worked perfectly once the software was installed, and continue to work perfectly. This is the only way I would recommend to continue to use an older but still quality printer!
