There's just no way, after all the times we've seen Streisand and all the ways she's imprinted herself on our minds and tastes, for us to accept her as a kid on the way up, as an unknown who hitches her destiny to a star. Even in her first rags-to-riches movie, even in Funny Girl, we knew and she knew that she was Barbra Streisand. I guess in A Star Is Born we're supposed to forget that. I have always been a fan of Barbra and Kris. I enjoy watching musical movies. In this movie I try my best to keep up with Barbra in Evergreen and I never succeed. I just loved every song in this movie. There was one thing that I did not like. At the end of the movie Kris dies. I had a better ending in mind. But it was still a dramatic movie about love, life, and tragedy.

My wife knows that I'm a collector of movies and I asked her what film did she enjoy that I didn't have in my collection. She mentioned "A Star is Born" with Kristofferson and Streisand. I had known of two other versions of the same story but I knew I had to get this one and thanks to Buy.com I was able to pre-order and surprisingly have the selection arrive before Christmas. I'm looking forward to a quiet evening and watching this classic (with all the music) with my wife. Thank you Buy.com Was this review helpful?

I saw this movie upon its release in 1976. I loved it then, and love it still. I have been searching for this movie to purchase on DVD for such a long time. I finally found it on buy.com....thanks to you I finally have this movie. Kris Kristofferson is so wonderful in this movie that you cannot help but feel so badly for him and to cheer him on. Barbra Streisand’s vocals are also excellent. I once saw an interview with him and he stated he changed his life around after filming Star is Born and this movie depicted his real life. One of the best and hottest love stories you'll want to ever see. Was this review helpful?
