The two hour concert from the November 2006 performance at The Point in Dublin, Ireland includes fan favorites from We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions, including Jacob's Ladder, Pay Me My Money Down, and Jesse James, as well as never-before-released performances of When the Saints Go Marching In, This Little Light of Mine, and Love of the Common People. In addition, Live in Dublin includes new interpretations of the classics Atlantic City, Open All Night, Growin' Up, and Blinded by the Light. Legendary mixer Bob Clearmountain mastered and mixed the DVD in both stereo and 5.1 surround sound. Documented with nine cameras, the DVD was filmed in High Definition. Bruce Springsteen is certainly no stranger to acoustic-based, folk-inspired music. So it's not a shock that he would release a tribute album to folk icon Pete Seeger with 2006's WE SHALL OVERCOME: THE SEEGER SESSIONS. The album celebrates not just Seeger's musical influence, but also the political stands the singer took, which obviously resonate with the famously progressive Springsteen. And while the E Street Band may be absent, Bruce tackles Seeger's tunes in classic larger-than-life Boss style, with a huge band that includes several string players, a horn section, accordion, and more. Incorporating everything from Dixieland to zydeco into the folk/blues template, Bruce stirs up a rowdy cauldron of Americana teeming with as much pure human passion as social import. This program captures the Boss performing many of the album's tracks in a live concert recorded at Dublin's The Point during a three-night stand in November 2006.
