 Editor's Note
Paul Shapiro's campy low-budget thriller, a sort of JAWS meets GIRLS GONE WILD, has killer sharks picking off the buff, tanned, none-too-bright college students who've come to town to party.

| | Professional Reviews | Pretty Scary 7 of 10 Perfect fodder for the Sci-Fi Channel, it seems rather odd that this movie made it's way all the way up the small screen food chain to a major network - and a network that primarily caters to an older audience. How it ended up there is anyone's guess but there was something so comforting about curling up to a throwback of the TV Movie of the Week, which was so prevalent in my childhood. Sure, this flick could never live up to the legendary Movies of the Week of yesteryear such as Trilogy of Terror or even Shark Kill, but there is something so heartwarming about CBS putting down some change for a fun little horror movie. And trust me, this was made on spare change. The very sparse special effects looked like they were financed on the leftover CGI money from CSI. Yes, they could have been much better, but somehow seemed perfectly at home amongst the absurdity. If there was a downside to this masterpiece is that there needed to be more shark time. - Amanda By Night Blogcritics Review 6 of 10 The plot doesn't really spend much time on the sharks either. There's a brief build-up after a quick on screen death (no one questions as to why these people are missing at any point) and then it's right into cheap college spring break movie #1,065. Evil guy gives young girl drugs, good guy saves her from evil guy, and girl saves guys from attacking sharks. That pretty much sums this one up in a nutshell. Considering the amount of time spent on the sharks, the least they could do is actually show them. There's one eerie (if derivative) shot of a shark circling right under a boat that's done well. For the most part, it's mostly cheap looking fins breaking the surface of the water. A few brief (if you can even call it that) moments of so-so CGI rounds things off. - Matt Paprocki
