As you go through your day, the acoustic environment around you is constantly changing - from the relative quiet of your car or office, to the high activity levels found in airports and on city streets. If you're like most mobile phone users, you're frustrated by the performance of your hands-free device specifically, its inability to eliminate background noise and provide sound clarity in a wide variety of locations and situations.

5 of 5 finally... 11/4/2008
from Cincinnati, OH
This is the best bluetooth I have come across. It is small, does not fall out of my ear, easy to use, and the sound is excellent. I am so glad I took a chance to try it.

3 of 5 Awesome in Theory, Reality Sucks 9/17/2008
Ed from San Diego, CA
This thing is cool to look at, fits in the ear nice, however, nobody can hear you speak when you use it! It picks up all the noise around you so when you call someone they hear everything going on and not your voice. It basically feels like a hearing aid that you can attempt to use as a bluetooth device. Used mine a total of 2 days before it found its way to Craigslist.

4.3 of 5 very good -- consistent sound, good fit, sleek loo 9/8/2008
Evan from Santa Monica, CA
This is my first bluetooth headset, and I have liked it a lot. The sound quality has some tradeoffs. BAD: There is some background static, and people sound somewhat tinny (both directions). GOOD: People tell me my voice is very clear and easy to understand--and they like listening to me on this much better than even my wired headset.
The fit is great; its size is adjustable and stays in my ear very easily and comfortably. The button interface took a moment to learn, but is easy to use at that point. The environmental noise pass-through mode seems silly and is easy to turn off. I haven't had to test the noise reduction feature yet. Battery life is great.

4.7 of 5 Good Synchronization 8/16/2008
Steve Hoem from Minneapolis, MN
I have used several Bluetooth earbuds and this is the first I have used that does not lose synch with my phone. I have a Treo 755p that didn't maintain synch with either the Cardo Scala or the Plantronics headsets.
As soon as I turn this headset on, it synchs and after two weeks of daily use, it has yet to lose the connection with my phone.
I read some other concerns about the ear hook. I decided to try the phone without the hook and have had no trouble with it falling out of my ear using only the rubber ear loop that holds inside the ear.
My only complaints are:
1. Battery needs to be charged at the end of each day - I tried going two days without charging the battery and the SM100 ran low on battery half-way thru the 2nd day.
2. I hear a faint ring at times when I am talking on the SM100. Others say they don't hear it so I have decided to put up with it (because the synch is so strong).
3. The SM100 is so small that I have almost lost it a few times when I take it out of my ear and set it down.
Lastly, I don't like the environmental mode where it acts as a background noise amplifier to let the ambient sounds thru to your ear when you have the SM100 in your ear. When I place the SM100 in my pocket when not in use, the switch gets bumped turning the environmental mode on and draining the battery.
Overall, I have been very pleased with the SM100 as it is very dependable-unlike others, I know it will be in synch and ready to answer the phone when I need it.

5 of 5 Awesome Product 6/30/2008
from Harrisburg, IL
This is my first bluetooth headset and I am extremely happy with my purchase. I based this purchase solely on my research and reviews I've read and I can now see why - it has exceptional sound, fits perfectly and is easy to use (once I read the manual of course). I would recommend this headset without hesitation.

5 of 5 Small size, Big performance SM100(black) 6/20/2008
from Alameda, CA
I'm a truck driver and needed a bluetooth earpiece that let me hear above the ambient noise of the road and diesel tractor. The SM100 definitely fit the bill. I have no problem hearing who I'm talking with and they in turn say they can hear me loud and clear with very little background noise.
It's lightweight, has a snug, comfortable fit with good, clear volume at both ends of the conversation. It paired easily with my LG phone and even let's me use voice dialing of the numbers in my contact list without ever touching my phone.
Unless you're hard of hearing you won't need the environmental mode, which basically just ampliflies the sound coming into that ear when you're not on a call.
So, all things considered, I'm satisfied and happy with the SM100.

2.7 of 5 Hugely disappointing 6/20/2008
bradknox81 from San Francisco, CA
After doing a lot of research on what I would buy for my first bluetooth headset, I chose this one. The sound output was tinny and frankly painful. Using it with my Mac on Skype, people complained about the microphone quality, even laughing at how bad it was.
I think that a certain percentage of these headsets are just faulty. There's no way other people who love this headset just have a different interpretation of its performance. I can't imagine anybody being happy with the one I received.

3.7 of 5 Not worth the buy 6/10/2008
from Fairfax, VA
The looped earpiece becomes loose after sometime. The call quality is not very good as there is always a background static noise. The volume button stopped working after two months only and the call quality has further gone down.

4.7 of 5 Great quality sound in a very compact comfortable 6/3/2008
Lisa from Gilbert, LA
I love that this module is so small that with a little hair covering it no one even knows it's there. Concealing it was important to me. It has a fantastic way of holding comfortably in your ear. It's very comfortable and I like not having an over the over-the-ear loop, although it does come with one for those people who prefer them. Give the little inner loop thing a chance......it's great! The whole module is very light and very comfortable.

The audio quality is impressive and I have never gotten a complaint while using it from anyone. I often ask the person I'm talking to about their opinion on the audio quality they're receiving. There has been only one call out of many that the person I was talking to even had a clue that I wasn't talking into the handset. I think that had more to do with my location than anything.

This little module is feature packed and it takes a little learning on how to use it, but once you get it, it's fantastic.

4.3 of 5 Great Bluetooth 6/1/2008
Ken from San Diego, Ca
After reading many sites on the bluetooth devices and seeing co-workers have troubles with their devices, I picked the SM100. Charged the battery, followed the instructions, and it works. I need the volume and environment settings, I work with aircraft. I can be out and about the craft and still hear and talk on it. I have no complaints from the other end during the conversation. My wife tried it and she now wants one!

4.3 of 5 One of the best Bluetooth sets I have used 5/27/2008
Chris from La Jolla, CA
This Bluetooth headset has nearly perfect fit and in general works well with the Bluetooth phones that I have used. The additional features that are supposed to make your ear "bionic" work, but are not the selling point. Most of the time I don't even use it. I like how it is small and unobtrusive. It works well on both ends. I hear people well and people hear me well. Overall, I recommend this headset.

4.3 of 5 Most comfortable 5/22/2008
from Lewisville, TX
I love the comfort fit and the sound is just fine for me. It can be too loud sometimes and I think that I got a great price at $55. I haven't figured out the real value or experienced the noise reduction settings, but overall, the size, weight, comfort fit, and sound quality are very good.
I would definitely suggest the extended warranty, since the unit is so small and can flip out of your hand unexpectedly. This happened once and when it hit the pavement, I had to snap it back together. The unit seems to work just fine, but I can hear something rattling around now.
I like it better than any of the others that I have owned!!

5 of 5 Great sound, really comfortable!! 5/12/2008
Lizz from San Jose, CA
I love using this headset, to the point where I don't like talking on my cellphone unless I'm using the headset. Sound ID has a winner here. The headset is extremely comfortable and won't fall out of my ear. I leave it in my ear all the time when I'm driving or am out and about. The sound quality is great, and people on the other end of the call are surprised by the clarity when I tell them I'm driving and using a headset. Background driving noise is not a nuisance.
There are 3 personal sound modes to adjust what I hear on the call. It changes the frequency levels and is helpful to understand the caller when I'm in a noisy place. I haven't seen any other headsets that do this.

3 of 5 Uncomfortable and mediocre performance 4/18/2008
from New Bedford, MA
I was initially pleased when I opened the package to find several power adaptors and earbud fitting options. However, I found the sound quality to be mediocre and "tinny". Also, the device doesn't fit in my ear properly and starts to cause pain after prolonged use. I purchased this from Buy.com for $52 shipped as a replacement for my Motorola H700 that I lost. I prefer the H700 because it has a foldable boom that shuts the device off when closed. With the SM100 you need to hold the multifunction button down for 4 seconds to power it on/off. I'm always answering my phone, come to find out the call is directed to my headset because I forget to shut it off after the previous headset use.

4.7 of 5 Love this thing! 4/7/2008
sueshe2 from Kansas City, MO
This was so easy to set up and the sound quality is really good. It is one of the best bluetooth's I've had.. which has been several.

It really does have an extremely long battery life. I never have had to recharge it at any time during the day (I do try to charge it every night, but it shouldn't be necessary unless there's been extremely heavy use)

There is a USB and car charger available at their web site http://www.soundid.com

Only a few negatives:

1. The over the ear loop is not adjustable and if it's too tight, it breaks easily!

2. The ear loops are pretty comfortable, just gotta pick the right size to stay in your ear.

4. The cost to replace the above items are a bit pricey and have only found them at their website..($9.99 for 3 of either.)

3. There's no hook to attach to a neck strap, which I like to do so I don't loose it. (One time it fell out of my ear and into the pond when I bent over, but I dried it out and it still works perfectly!) I ended up wrapping the cord of the neck strap around the base of the ear loop, which works ok.

All-in-all, this is a nice little unit and I would definitely buy this or another model from SoundID again.

4.7 of 5 Stands out for performance 3/30/2008
from Longmont, CO
I've used every make of bluetooth wireless, plantronics, jabra, motorola, etc. This stands out for sound quality and for the quality of the voice transmission. I haven't had a single complaint from people I am talking to. The only annoying thing is the feature that is supposed to allow you to hear normally when wearing the headset. Although you can hear normally it has a high pitched continuous whine. Thank goodness you can turn this feature off. Not sure what problem they were really trying to solve since wearing any headset the reduction in hearing is only minimal anyway.

4.3 of 5 good product 3/27/2008
Jeff from Gypsum, CO
People say they can hear me as if on a cell. What I hear is not that great but good enough. The environmental mode works if needed but tin sounding. It holds in the ear just fine & does not take that long to get used to. battery power is decent. Good value. What I do not get is that buy.com can not tell you how the item is being shipped, usps does not deliver to my house & ups does not deliver to my po box & I paid the extra shipping figuring that it would come to house & it did.

5 of 5 Great headset!! 3/26/2008
from Warminster, PA
This is my second blutooth headset Motorola 350. I did not like the first one because it kept ffalling out of my ear and made it hard to have conversations. After searching th internet and viewing several reviews, I purchased this headset. So far this headset is awesome. The only complain is that I wish it had a case so I can place it on my pocket.
