5 of 5 Sleek and sweet! Friday, July 01, 2005 Zeik from PA
This kicks the pants off of my Nomad Zen - the response time is a little slower but understandable as it does have more complex software and features. The G pad is cool - takes a little time to get used to it. Overall, very happy!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 i-pod? What i-pod? Saturday, May 14, 2005 Rev from London, England
Better looking than the ubiquitous i-pod and with sound quality to match the Pocket Vaio is all you could want in a mobile "juke box". I have entered over 250 albums on it so far and have only just gone over 20Gb. The navigation could be slicker, the g-sense is either too sensitive or not enough depending on your thumb and, like all mass produced products, it is biased to right handed people (turn it upside down and try it!). However if sound-per-pound is your yardstick then it cannot be faulted. It is already indispensible when I leave the house. Was this review helpful?

The Vaio music player is stunning, with sleek design and a georgous colour screen. The navigation on the device is, sony g-sense touch pad, is at first a little complicated but after about 15min there is no problem.
The quality of music playback is excellant, I even belive it rivals the ipod. There are no annoying pauses, just pure music!!!
The colour screen is of course a gimic, but hey, what a gimic!!! It allows you to show off, being one of the only music players with a colour screen around.
The only critisim I can draw from this, is the ATRAC conversion that needs to take place, all your existing Mp3/ wma files must be converted to atrac or they will not play on the device. You can do this using the free sonic satge software. Admitadly it is a little slow and clunky but Its somthing u can overlook. Put it this way it took my computer just over 2 hrs to put on all 700 tracks, which all needed converting. so its not too bad.
Another major advantage is the ability to automatically transfere images from a digital camera. No longer is the worry of a full memory stick on holiday, just use the supplied cable to zip all the images across to the device. and of course you can view all your snaps on the player. How cool!!!!
Now I think this product is a true competitor to the ipod, especially now aplles 4th generation use the click wheel, which is awful and far to clunky for my liking. This device is deffinatly of superior quality. Treat yourself and buy it. Forget whatever critics say, yes its not white, but who wants white when you can have COLOUR. Enjoy Was this review helpful?
