5 of 5 HORRIBLE touchpad & RICKETTY keyboard Tuesday, November 13, 2007

worst keyboard and more than a doubly worse touch pad that make this otherwise great laptop a dampner...Stay away from it unless you dont plan it for regular use like me- a grad student- for the ms-office applications like powerpoint/excel/word where in its a nightmare to work with these input devices.....nearly 60 gb worth of junk out of 200GB....the norton did not work properly....the looks are great ,performance is ok.....overall satisfaction is dampened as being a student i have to work with presentations and text all the time -which becomes a nightmare with this touch pad and keyboard- the worse i have seen till date in a laptop-my earlier toshiba is too good in that respect.....its pretty to watch at - only if you dont want to work with the touch pad and the keyboard - both of which suck.... i give a 4 overall...only grouse being the inept input devices and the junkware....

4 of 5 Good choice buying Sony Vaio, but the problem is t Tuesday, September 25, 2007

The computer works perfectlty, is solid, fast and have lot´s of space in the hard drive. The problem is that the Windows Vista in not developed at all yet, so many problems appers when trying to instal programs and other things. Is the same thing that happened with the Windows XP. At first it had some problems but then they solved them with the service packs. Of course that is just a matter of time. If you are thinking of buying this or any other computer with Windows Vista, be aware that you may change it to Xp. A thing of this computer is that you need lot´s of drivers in order to make it work correctly, and if you want to change Vista to Xp you might have problems intalling the Vaio drivers. Another thing is that sometimes the volume and the brightness bottons stop working. For solving the problem you have to donwload the Sony Vaio Utility driver and reinstall them. I don´t know if it´s a problem from the Vaio or from the Vista. Out of those problems, the computer works really good..

I got this sony vaio for ($....). Ordered on Sunday and got it on Wednesday with free shipping. Its a great notebook for non-business use. Except for the slow hard disk and tons of bloatware, I like everything about it.
