Sony ECM-MS907 Microphone - Electret - Detachable - 100 Hz to 15 kHz - Cable

I'm an amateur (hobby) videographer, working on a family documentary. I'm using a Sony DCR-TRV900 camcorder to videotape this project. Although the videocamera is only a few feet away from the subjects on a tripod, the built-in microphone picks up a lot of house & camcorder motor noise, and the subjects sound very far away and unclear. This microphone plugs directly into the mic in port on the camcorder, no adapters needed. I positioned it on its stand on the floor, directly in front of the two chairs where the interviewees sit. Sound is now clear. I'm very satisfied with my purchase, and the price here is very competitive.

This little microphone is simply amazing! It can be used to record a wide variety of sources, and records very true to the original. The only problem I have with it is that it uses the 1/8' (eighth inch) adapter, since it's made mostly for portable MiniDisc and DAT recorders. Using this in a different situation is a bit of a pain, but it is usually well worth it. A great entry level mic that's inexpensive and phenomenal.
