Up until now, the terrifying Maneater Series has done everything from the big and scary (GRIZZLY RAGE, CROC) to the small and creepy (IN THE SPIDER'S WEB, THE HIVE). But now, for the first time in the franchise, a new kind of creature will kill, a beast that attacks the mind rather than the body and would be more aptly measured in fluid ounces than feet. Those who guessed a maliciously hallucinogenic, hyper-intelligent semi-solid would be right. No one listened when they were told the grounds on which a new conference center was to be built was toxic. Now, thanks to the mysterious goo under the premises, people are seeing things they never wanted to see, and doing things they never thought they'd do. It knows their fears, and it wants anarchy.
