 Editor's Note
Billy Crystal got his start as one of the first gay characters to appear on prime-time television in this once controversial series. As TV entertainment, SOAP was ahead of its time both creatively--functioning as a parody of the soap opera within the trappings of a prime-time sitcom--and topically--dealing with such issues as interracial marriage, gay parenting, marital infidelity, and impotence. Robert Urich, Richard Mulligan, Katherine Helmond (WHO'S THE BOSS), Robert Guillaume (SPORTS NIGHT), and a host of others round out the impressive ensemble cast of all four seasons and 85 episodes of this must-own for any enthusiast of progressive television. Fans that can't get enough of Guillaume's Benson on this series may be interested to know the character was spun-off into its own show, titled BENSON.

5 of 5 Talk Soap by J.S. Thursday, March 05, 2009 Joe S. from Milwaukee, WI
The series speaks for it's self, if your a fan you'll love this product. The only complaint I have with it is the way the company that distriputs it packaged it, the discs sit on top of each other and can scratch. I take care of my things carefully and had to put thin felt between the discs, but thats me i'm anal. The sound, picture, and episode set up is great, and I highly recommend this product. 5 of 5 Soap - A TV Classic Thursday, January 08, 2009 dlw119 from Lawrenceville, GA
Having the opportunity to view the episodes again brings back so many fond memories. At the time of airing, I was in High School and I remember how a LARGE group of us used to gather at lunchtime and converse about the show the following day. Just don't make shows like this anymore. My only disappointment in this purchase I have is the packaging of the DVD, it is cheap, but the quality of the DVD is good

5 of 5 SOAP Collection Tuesday, July 29, 2008 lmarold from Amesbury, MA
There is no real nitty gritty information with the set. The packaging and inserts are minimal but the quality of the DVDs is good. If you are a Soap fan, I would recommend you get it. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Five Stars for Series Two Stars for packaging Friday, July 04, 2008 A Viewer from Bronx, NY
If you are a fan of Soap you already know what a terrific series this is. What you need to know is that this is the cheapest dvd package deal you can get. There are no individual cases, all of the dvds are on a cheap plastic spindle with piece of cardboard to hold them in place. For the price, you might think you are coming out ahead, but in the long run, when your disks are all scratched and in need of replacement, you will wish that you had spent the money on he individual season sets.
