Product does all that you'd expect with little to no set up. It performs as expected, gives all the features you need (fwd, back, hide, laser pointer, right-click context menu, and mouse control). Best unique feature is that usb 'radio dongle' stores in the body of the hand control when not in use and also turns the unit off to save the battery -perfect since it's only used during presentations.
Setup was 30 seconds on both windows XP and Vista systems, as well as on Mac OS X (10.4 and Leopard 10.5).
There's some question regarding the product lifecycle of this specific model as the Interlink website does not list this as a featured item and also makes the price seem a bit high. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Does not work consistently Wednesday, November 28, 2007 Mike from Atlanta, Georgia
I actually got the device to work once, but then it wouldn't work again after that. Could never get it to sync up consistently (from the USB dongle to the remote pointing device). So, in the end, it wasn't useful to me. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good tool Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from florence, SC
Configuration was a snap; just plug and play. The range is good and the device is simple to use. My only gripe is that I would like the laser pointer to be a little brighter. But then at the low price I paid, I'm happy with the purchase. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Comfortable, easy to use Tuesday, November 27, 2007 A Customer from Evergreen CO
I am a teacher who uses my laptop/projector daily. As a presentation controller for PowerPoint and Keynote, the Pilot Pro is reliable and more comfortable than the Kensington model it replaced. The auto-off feature (when the receiver module is placed in its storage dock) prevents battery rundown while the controller is tucked away in my computer bag. The only negative is that the mouse-click buttons are located at grip points, so they are too easily clicked inadvertently.(I don't use the mousing capability much--it is less responsive than on some other models I have used.) 5 of 5 Excellent presentation tool Wednesday, September 26, 2007 Brian from Lilburn, GA
This presenter has all of the features of a more expensive presenter at a bargain price. The range is great, and it offers great features in a small package. I bought several for teachers at our school, and they all rave about the convenience. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Super product design in USA and made in China Thursday, September 06, 2007 A Customer from Irvine, CA
GOOD in my hand: remote stores the usb key; hide slide button; pro-hand product surface coating.
NOT good in my hand: the left mouse key at the bottom of the presenter can be accidentally pressed to show the next slide.
OVERALL, I give A+++ rating. Thanks. ch646

This is hands-down the best product of its kind. I've tried Targus (hair-trigger buttons), Kensington (lousy USB driver -- sometimes works/sometimes doesn't).
This thing has several killer features:
1. Buffered buttons -- regardless of how long you hold the button, it only advances 1 slide
2. Storage/auto-shutoff for USB receiver -- When you put the USB receiver in its storage pocket, it completely shuts down the transmitter -- prevents the batteries from draining if a button gets pressed in the carrying case.
You won't do better. Was this review helpful?

I have looked at about a dozen presentation remotes, and the Presentation Pilot Pro VP6450 tops them all. It has the standard forward/back/blank screen/laser pointer buttons. Plus it has mouse control with left/right click buttons, so you can use it to control a web browser or movie player or anything else on your computer. Button layout is logical and easy to learn to use, which is nice for guest presentors. The USB receiver fits in the base and disables the buttons, which is ideal for travel. The size is perfect; fits great in the hand and is lightweight. The laser pointer is nice and bright. Range is outstanding. It is advertised as 50 feet, but I got it to 90ft at the back wall of an auditorium and it worked without any hiccups. The price on this unit is outstanding, as remotes with the same features can cost up to 4x as much. Definitely a 5-star product and an outstanding value. Highly recommended! Was this review helpful?

This presentation remote is simple to use, has all necessary features, and costs less than other comparable remotes. Besides the standard forward, back, blank screen buttons, and laser pointer that most remotes have, this one also controls the mouse cursor and left and right mouse buttons, enabling you to use it for more than just going forward or back in your presentation. Use it to control anything that a mouse or touch pad would do. The laser pointer is nice and bright, unlike lasers on some other remotes. The info says this has a 50 foot range. It worked perfectly at 90 feet in an auditorium, and was still very responsive. The size is small and lightweight. Another cool feature is the USB receiver fits in the remote and disables the buttons, so this is great for those that travel. This remote was much better than I expected. I use it with an Apple computer and Keynote, and it works flawlessly (advertises Mac/Keynote compatibility along with Powerpoint.) It works great with Powerpoint on a PC, too.
