5 of 5 SMC ethernet adapter worked perfectly Saturday, February 23, 2008 ceverba1 from Swarthmore, PA
I bought the SMC ethernet-to-USB adaptor because I purchased an XO laptop from OLPC but do not have wireless in my home. The SMC adaptor worked perfectly out of the box, and I carry it with me when I am at work (where we have wireless but it requires a certificate not currently compatible with the XO laptop). I'm trying to find a usb/eth that works with gmac AND linux. I've tried Linksys and Inland. No luck. However, this one works great! Was this review helpful?

I use this adapter with my notebook computer. This one-piece network adapter works flawlessly. The installation for Windows 2000 worked perfectly; and as indicated in the simple instructions. I have not measured the data throughput speed, but seems to be similar to a 10/100 PCCARD adapter, connected to a 10 Mbit network. This device costs less than most dongle-less PCCARD adapters, and works quite well. Was this review helpful?
