5 of 5 Surprised Tuesday, November 27, 2007 Daniel A. from New York, NY
I was taking a chance on this router, I bought it on sale and I am very happy with my purchase. I owned a netgear previously, which used to disconnect all the time and deliver poor reception at the other side of my place. This router has yet to lose signal and I have owned it for 3 months and its signal strength is consistent around my place. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good unit with good tech support Tuesday, November 27, 2007 A Customer from Long Island, New York
Unit works well and though I had trouble accessing the unit to set it up correctly, tech support was very nice and available to help set the unit so it works with 4 desktops and a wireless laptop.
I wanted to also set it up for "game" information sharing but the tech on the phone said he could not give me the information to set up static addresses and port addresssing and that I would have to email tech support for that.
I have not done that yet as there are other things in my life that need to be taken care of first. Port Forward does not list this unit yet so I could not get help there. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great router Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Ralph from Miami. FL
This router works great once it's set up properly, plus it supports the n-draft spec and has a built in switch for turning off wifi. I got it with a buy.com $50 rebate making it a super deal. Even without the rebate, it's still a good buy. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Outstanding Router and a Good Value Tuesday, September 18, 2007 A Customer from Arlington, VA
I replaced a several years old SMC wireless-G router with this one. It set up very easily and has worked perfectly. In addition to several computers and laptops, I also have a wired print server, a networked multi-function machine and a wireless print server. Everything works very well with SMCWBR14-N. In addition, there are no dropped connections and, of course, it's a lot faster than G. The only problem I had was with some older SMC USB-G adapters and that turned out to be a software problem with the SMC client--they now work fine using the Windows service.
With the $50 rebate, this was a super value. Even without, it's a very good deal. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 SMCWBR14-N Tuesday, September 04, 2007 A Customer from Melbourne, FL
I just installed the router on home network. I am very impressed with all the options. I use vonage and with this router I did not have to turn off any of my SPI settings it worked out of the box. There is a feature called StreamEngine which appears to be a QoS service provider. This router by far surpasses the junk put out Linksys. You will be very happy with this router. 5 of 5 Best quality for the price Wednesday, August 15, 2007 Terence from California
I am replacing this router with my previous SMC router which is about 2 years old.
Pro:
easy installation, better range, Qos service , very stable system. one set up and you can forget about it. External wifi on/off switch added up more security.
Con:
No print server included. But you can still print out wireless from network setting.
With buy.com $50 rebate, you can get the best wireless router for the fraction of other regular routers. Was this review helpful?
4 of 4 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Easy to install and use Sunday, May 27, 2007 A Customer from Stafford, VA
I have used this with Verizon DSL and Comcast Cable Internet and it works like it should for both, flawlessly. Installation was easy, setting up a password for wireless security was simple, and the wireless range distance you can be from the unit is impressive and still be able to keep the same download speeds.
