As far as functionality, the phone works well. The latest firmware allows for +1 prefix to be stored, so all you have to dial is area code and number. Responsiveness is adequate (moving around menus can be a bit slow, but it works). Clarity is great on the receiving end, but I ALWAYS get complaints from friends saying that I sound pretty low or far away. If they're driving w/ wind noise (or any noisy environment), FORGET IT. If they're in a calm environment, not so bad but they still have to turn up the volume on their phone all the way. That's my only real complaint. skype is great! this phone is making a skype better, but needs some improvements like you can use your own ringtones and that be more louder, is difficult hear the bubbles in a normal sound conditions, whatever, i recomend it!

This phone is garbage. The software is extremely slow and often unresponsive. The phone restarts when attempting to look up cals lists, contact, etc. Many times when I answer a call, we can't hear each other. I know it's not Skype because I can use a headset and get perfect calls.
I tried many times to upgrade the software but that doesn't work either.
Furthermore, SMC doesn't offer a money back guarantee or replacement. They say they will "fix" the device but it is unlikely to work. Also, the consumer has to pay shipping on a device that they sold with many faults.

The phone does not hold charge for very long. A few days after getting it a line appeared across the LCD screen. I do not have the patience to try and return the product for the minor defect. It is reasonably ergonomic and user friendly. There's got to be a better product out there. Was this review helpful?

It was easy to set up. The voice clarity is amazing. It is the size of a "candy bar" phone. It is easy to use too. And the color screen is very good.

I am using this phone to call over Skype and it works very good.All the calls I made are very clear as a cordless home phone. I have on problem to connect to the Internet as long as I have good signal. I recommend it and it is good for the price. Was this review helpful?

Very happy with the SMC Wi-Fi Skype phone. The item was very easy to setup, sounds great and is about the size of a cell phone. Works seamlessly with available wi-fi hotspots. Was this review helpful?
