5 of 5 A Real Bargain Sunday, July 06, 2008 George from Knoxville, TN
Easy to use, plug and play with Windows XP. Mine works perfectly without the optional power adapter, though some people might need that if their computer's USB port doesn't supply enough power.
This drive comes with a nice bit of backup software too. It took me a few tries to figure it out but it now works smoothly too automatically backup my files.
Highly recommended. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good value but needs extra USB power Tuesday, July 01, 2008 Ed from Shelton, CT
Unlike the WD-120 USB I purchased that works on any of my USB 1.0 or USB 2.0 notebook and desktop PCs, this FireLite required power from 2 USB ports. I had to purchase a splitter cable to allow power to be drawn from 2 USB ports. Otherwise, it works great. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Small factor, big performance. Sunday, June 29, 2008 A Customer from Dayton, Ohio
I was looking for a bus powered drive that was small and light enough in size to be almost unnoticable when put in the laptop bag for traveling.
When I saw this item it seemed ideal so I thought I'd try it. I opted for the 120Gig USB unit. It has a small form factor with a pleasing sleek design and has a thick tough shell. Compared to another external drive I have it's positively micro-sized even if the capacity is similar and it has the advantage of not needing an extra outlet to use.
Once connected to the USB port the unit fires up instantly and is ready to use. It appears to be written to and from almost as quickly as the internal drive. It comes with software for backing up data. The software works well but seems a bit cumbersome compared to the free-ware that is available today. No problems to report so far and I am happy to say it is well worth the money. It's an A+ product in my book. Was this review helpful?
