This is a great tool for storing masses of photos. I can plug it into my digital photo frame and have thousands of photos in my slideshow. On vacation, I can take as many pictures as I want and offload my card onto the Photobank and then reuse my card again. I like it because it runs on batteries, is portable and you just insert your card and press copy, and voila! The only drawback is that you can't view the photos on the screen - but it's for storage, not viewing, so I'm okay with that. Was this review helpful?

This is a very convient, battery powered way to backup any memory card data while in the field. It is also set up to read XD cards which is not indicated in the description. The battery recharges through a powered USB port so there is no need to carry another power supply around. This is an older/smaller capacity (40GB) model, but is more than sufficient for most cases. It is thicker than a simple external harddrive, but the display does provide information on what is happening. Was this review helpful?

I bought this for my Photo and Video Business
and it works as expected, I had a photographer with me
and at the end of the day we transfer around 10GB of photos
to SmartDisk PhotoBank with no problems. We even erase some cards to keep shooting. It also works great with my Mac. The only drawback was that it took a around 30min to do it. We left it in the car transferring the data, while we were shooting more pictures. Bottom line, if you are looking for a great inexpensive way to transfer your photos and don't mind the wait, this is it. Was this review helpful?
