| | Professional Reviews | Deeko 10 of 10 Some of you are probably asking yourselves why I'm writing a review for a game that's been out for quite some time now. There are actually a few reasons. The first being is that I haven't been able to stop playing Skate long enough to write a review...The second reason is I must convey that as a skater and a lover of the skateboarding game genre, I think I've started to grow weary of the Tony Hawk franchise. Blasphemy you say? That may be true but there's no denying that EA is on to something with Skate...Visually, Skate is really something to see. I feel as if I'm playing within the confines of an honest to goodness skateboard video. The city itself is detailed very well as are the skate animations. Each flip, grab, spin and bail is rendered very realistically...Skate is by far the most fun I've had with a skateboarding game in a very, very long time. With a new control system, this title breathes new life into a genre...Skate really has upped the ante, and considering the new Hawk game about to drop, its name really seems to fit more than ever. The only thing this game has to "prove" is how long until the masses see that this is the better game. - Matt Schaldach
