This is my 4th Sirius radio, and first Sportster 5. I like the ease of use and the easy tuning capability. One issue is with the antenna extender. My old JVC units never had anything like that(they just had a problem with the display burning out). Using the extender and tuning to a radio station there was a bit of static. I finally used a cassette adapter to solve the static problem. I think it will be a good unit Was this review helpful?

As far as the radio goes, the buy.com marketplace is the cheapest for this model. I feel home units are bulky and overpriced for identical quality with a mobile or portable unit. This radio is the way to go if considering getting sirius. I would however recommend waiting until the new radios are out after the finalizing of the merger. Sirius has great content, expert djs, but poor sound quality due to high compression. Maybe I expect too much but this is a pay service so quality should be at the forefront. 5 stars for portablity, ease of use, and aesthetics on this unit. 3 stars for audio quality that there appears to be no way to bring up to cd levels. This radio is for you if you have quick hookups for both home and auto. Was this review helpful?

I travel a lot and about every 30 miles I have to find a new FM station to transmit to. When I borrow my friends XM radio I never had to do this. I believe the FM transmitter signal is really weak. Otherwise it works great. Was this review helpful?
