 Editor's Note
THE SIMPSONS hit its 200th episodes in its landmark ninth season, and the series showed no signs of slowing down. The Simpsons--ineffectual (but lovable) patriarch Homer, voice-of-reason mother Marge, rebellious son Bart, brilliant daughter Lisa, and quiet baby Maggie--live in the city of Springfield, surrounded by both the regular cast of characters and the stellar guest stars fans have come to expect. Guest voices are always a highlight, and the ninth season's eclectic roster includes Martin Sheen, U2, and Stephen Wright. This volume features "The Two Mrs. Nahasapeemapetilons," "Das Bus," and, of course, the annual "Treehouse of Horror" episode.

| | Professional Reviews | Total Film 5 stars out of 5 -- "With a creative team hitting its stride with near-implausible consistency..." 03/01/2007 p.130Ultimate DVD 3 stars out of 5 -- "[T]his is the season that THE SIMPSONS' creative team expanded the show's remit, allowing it to keep fresh and grow up." 03/01/2007 p.108 The DVD Report 10 of 10 As the longest running animated show in history, and the longest running prime-time show of any type, The Simpsons is an American treasure - a combination of humor, wit, and satire that examines not just the lives of its eccentric characters, but also the society, culture, and world in which we live. Fun for adults and children alike, The Simpsons is a cutting edge television comedy that, like Seinfeld, altered the television landscape in the 1990's by dictating a new genre of TV fun that spawned network investment in new animated series such as King of the Hill, Futurama, and The Family Guy...Like all new things which smash the paradigm of life, The Simpsons is unrivaled by its knockoffs, and the show doesn't show signs of slowing down. - Britt Gillette
