I am constantly transferring files, from home, from work and to and from other computers for all of my digital files. I have a few smaller thumb drives and they work great but have recently been scanning in years and years of pictures from my mother's collection and needed a quick and easy way to get all the pictures to her computer out of state. Instead of buying several smaller thumb drives, this one works great and is easy to travel with the needed space for large files. Using it as a back-up for other files as well. I purchased the product to back up one XP and one Vista machine's entertainment-media files. The machine installed successfully on both machines, and downloaded files easily, albeit a tad slowly.
The next time I booted my XP, the nagware informed me that the XP found new software, and continued to brag about its discovery for two days. On the third day, it generated a BSD, and Microsoft's error report advised me that the Simpletech drivers are incompatible with my machine or with something on it. I uninstalled the drivers, and now plan to transfer files from the XP to the Vista and back them up from that machine.
The personal hard drive is small, the warranty is good, but I have major issues with the incompatibility problem and hope not to lose my files if it develops a problem with installed drivers and software on the Vista, since I use much aftermarket software. Was this review helpful?

Very simple installation, especially compared to other external hard drives I've tried & so far, it's working like a charm. Case designed by the Ferrari folks makes it look great, too. Was this review helpful?
