I've had three damaged drives in a row that Buy.com sent a replacement for until they told me I would have to accept a refund of my money and a $20 gift card(which does not cover the price difference between what my purchase price was and the current Buy price is).
I was willing to keep trying as I got one that had a working USB but not firewire and the performance was good. I think if the simpletech box had not been loose in a bigger box with just some wrapping paper stuffed in I would not have had these problems. Was this review helpful?

I use this drive as a storage for RAW image files and for backup on a Mac. Similar in operation as my WD 1TB external Using FW800, (transferred about 1.2TB in about 3hrs), but seemed a tad smoother and faster, with the case definitely a lot cooler to the touch. It's got all the interfaces, in case it gets used on any other computer in the future. eSata is awesome, and will use it once I install a card. Price was great, and came in 2 days, even with the budget shipping. Was this review helpful?

I do a lot of video and photo editing and i needed a new external drive for additional storage space for back up. I found this drive at Buy.com at a great low price! It's got everything I am looking for- RAID, eSata, USB2.0, FireWire, and a cool back up software. I am very pleased with this drive compare to my WD drive. Was this review helpful?
