In responds to Joe's review on this product. SimpleTech realized the issue and immediately fixed the problem. All the drives shipped after 2007 were built with thicker and stronger materials to improve the quality of the drive. Not long after, SimpleTech released the new and improved edition, part PROD1000Q. Good product, not noisy at all, had a hard time formatting the drive in Leopard but after reading online forums I found out it was a leopard problem and not the drive, you need to use the disk utility in Tiger OS because for some reason the disk utility in Leopard does not work to format the drive. Received first unit a week ago - broken, sent for exchange, received second unit today - also broken. Super cheap plastic. Have no idea how Simpletech expect people paying $330 bucks for such garbage. Was this review helpful?
