5 of 5 My favorite set of in-ear headphones Sunday, February 15, 2009 A Customer from Houston, TX
Before owning the Shure SE530s, I've tried the Koss PortaPro, Bose QuietComfort 2 & 3, Grado SR60, Sleek Audio SA6, and the Klipsch Image headphones, and I can wholeheartedly say that after three months of ownership, the Shures are my favorite. Granted, there are certainly some amazing over-the-ear headphones out there, but for my daily use purposes, the portability and style of these Shures won me over. I desperately wanted to love the Sleek Audio headphones, but I was quite disappointed in the anemic bass response and the almost-overpowering treble, but it seems that there are a lot of people who like this sort of configuration. Not me. Reviews of the Shures often say that it is a very neutral set of headphones - I've taken that to mean that nothing is lacking or overpowering across the entire frequency spectrum. Bass is full and accurate without being too "boomy," the midrange is absolutely lovely (voices and instruments really shine here compared to the other in-ear headphones I've tried), and the treble is just right. Sound isolation is better than the Bose noise-canceling headphones! My daily use definitely justifies the more expensive purchase, and you really can't get better in-ear headphones for less than $500 bucks. I spent over half a year researching headphones by reading reviews and talking to other people, but the only way to know which headphone is for is to try a pair on. Find a friend with a set or a store with an understanding return policy so you can be happy with your purchase. I purchased from Buy.com (I can't remember if it was from The Deal Spot or not) and was able to secure my 2 year warranty with registration, if that is a concern of yours. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 The best non-custom in ear headphones in the world Saturday, February 14, 2009 A Customer from Delaware
I bought the shure se530's about a month ago from buy.com and have used them everyday since I got them in the mail. They are simply the best in ear headphones in the world. The only exception to this is the Ultimate Ears Pro10 or Pro11's. However, there performance is very close to that of the SE530's and the UE11's are more than $1000's. So I have to say that I'm very happy with the headphones and I use them all the time. Oh yea....they also sound fenominal!!!!! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great Sounding IEM Sunday, October 12, 2008 A Customer from MD
The Shure Se530s are a blast to listen to. Each track you hear, new or old, sound amazing. I was wowed within the first minute of listening with these. The bass is deep and clean without the typical muddy thumping sound. The midrange which mainly consists of the vocals is very crisp and clear; it probably has the best midrange of any full-sized and in ear headphones I've heard. The highs are very good but could be better when compared to the lows and mids. The package comes with all kinds of accessories such as extenders, sleeves, and etc. The sound isolation depending on the sleeve that'll suit you best is something to look forward to. IMO, sound isolating is much better than noise canceling since there is no need for batteries and extra sounds are being outputted to cancel the noise. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great, Great, Great Tuesday, September 30, 2008 A Customer from Austin, TX
Product was shipped when promised and arrived on time. Was new as indicated at an incredibly low price. I have tried at least six other sets of headphones and these are, by far, the BEST sounding I've ever heard. Don't waste your time and money on lower priced headphones, you will be disappointed. 5 of 5 Expensive, but comfortable, awesome sound Tuesday, September 09, 2008 A Customer from san antonio, tx
This is the second pair of these headphones I've owned (replaced a stolen pair). I find them very comfortable for long wear with the foam earbuds. These are great for airplane travel. These are a little on the expensive side, but the sound is very, very nice. Also, this is the first set of 'phones that I find comfortable to wear on long multi-hour flights. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best ear buds I've tried! Tuesday, September 02, 2008 A Customer from Athens, Ohio
Okay, I haven't tried many ear buds. The ones that came with various MP3 players are hardly anything to rave about.
However I do own and love my Bose QuietComfort 2 headphones. I will compare the Shure E530 to them. The Bose headphones are wonderful when traveling by air because they cancel the annoying low drone of the jet. They are also very comfortable. But, for listening while mowing the lawn they get all sweaty. So I decided to get the Shure ear buds.
Very nice! The sound is excellent for ear buds. It makes me glad I rip my MP3s at a high bit rate. I also tried them in the car (for test purposes only.) I sounded the horn in the car and could not hear it at all while listening through the Shure ear buds. Something I have found with both the Bose and Shure units is that I hear things more clearly in them than my home system.
For my Shure E530 I chose the small foam sound isolating sleeves which fit very well. They were comfortable and did not cause any irritation. My only complaint is with ear buds in general - the hassle of inserting them in the ears. Overall I'm very pleased with the Shure E530. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great but not enough Monday, May 12, 2008 raytex111 from Corpus Christi, Texas
I purchased a pair of SE-530's. They are well balanced and require less volume to hear them properly. Every nuance can be heard. Only one small problem, not enough accurate bass. Perhaps it's the seal required to hear the bass end. The memory foam that comes with them is not as dense as some of the other memory foam that I have encountered like the foam that comes with the JVC-Marshmellows. Now, that foam from JVC creates a very good seal. The Marshmellows have a very accurate bass but not a good mid or high end as opposed to the Shure. Perhaps again, it is due to the type of seal you get. One thing for shure I will try the Ultimate Ears UE-super.fi5EB to see a difference as to what I'm looking to achive. They are a bit pricey. If they will incorporate a high quality dynamic driver for their low end and keep the armature drivers for the mid and highs they will end up with a phenominal set of earphones.
