3 of 5 This is only 720p Monday, December 22, 2008 Scott from Elk Grove, CA
I couldn't find this info anywhere in the tech specs. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Just try and find a comparable size TV for the pri Sunday, December 21, 2008 Cullen from Millington, TN
I love this TV! Not only is it priced well, but it shipped out quickly!
It is 720p, but don't let that fool you. To notice the difference in picture quality between 720p and 1080p, you'd have to view a 70" set at six feet or closer.
The only downside to the TV is the onboard OPC. This "feature" is supposed to adjust the TV's brightness based on the lighting in the room. What it winds up doing it brightening and dimming the TV during dark or light scenes. Best to just turn it off or adjust it way down. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great 720p TV Friday, December 12, 2008 A Customer from Millington TN
I bought this to replace an old 32" CRT. I've been wanting to replace it for a couple of years and have been very careful about keeping abreast of the technology.
I am quite happy with this TV. It's actually larger than I was wanting but at this price I couldn't pass it up. The colors are lush and the black levels are dark.
The only complaint I have is with the OPC feature - which is Sharp's version of a dynamic iris control. During dark scenes, the entire screen will dim and during bright scenes the entire screen with lighten. It's quite annoying. Turning it off helps, but adjusting the OPC levels down to 1 works better.
