A very good value for a very good Blu-ray player. Compliments my Sharp HDTV very well. Picture, sound quality and features are outstanding. Very user friendly as well. I purchased this last November. Then I bought Narnia Prince Caspian. And it did not work on this player (I thought it was the disc). Turns out it needed a firmware update. They recently released the update and now it plays fine. My advice, update the firmware before you install your player in your entertainment center. Also, you can get a USB cable that will extend the plug on the back to the front of the unit if your entertainment center is tight and hard to get to the back of things.
HDMI works great! Remote is fine. In all a good purchase when I got it. Was this review helpful?

I got this player, attempted to play some brand new disks and found right away that this player will not play many blu ray disks. For example it will play the first 2 disks of the Firefly box set but not the third. You get an incompatible message or unable to play, and things like that. Looking online I see numerous complaints of this. It makes me wonder about the two 5 star reviews below. There's nothing like a blu ray player that only plays 50% of all blu ray disks (or whatever the ratio is). Even if it feels like playing a disk and you get lucky, it takes several minutes to load up. We love our new Sharp AQUOS BD-HP21U Blu-ray Disc Player, it was easy to set up with no hassles at all. We bought an optional HDMI cable ahead of time, so we used that port on our Sharp AQUOS D72U Series 42" LCD TV (also purchased about a year ago from Buy.com) to connect the two units. After connecting them up, they talked to each other for a few moments, bonded and presto we were ready to watch our first Blu-ray movie, it was wonderful! Boy.com and Sharp AQUAS are unbeatable pair.
