5 of 5 Beam Me UP! Saturday, May 09, 2009 Jean from Merrillville, Indiana
I have been a fan of the Sony headphones for many, many years now. I owned one of the first Sony portable headphone units back in the 1980's and was greatly impressed with the sound quality of a walkman system even then. I wanted to try something different this time around, so going by the feedback from the other reviews I decided to give the Sennheiser PX 100 Stereo Headphones for my mp3 player a try.
Hmmm... In those first few minutes, if I closed my eyes, I could actually feel the music! I was transported to a different place within my mind's eye. Deep, rich, distinct tone values...there were aspects of music that I had been totally missing with my old headphones. These cost a bit more than I would ever consider spending on headphones, BUT worth every penny to hear the entire range of sound!
Even though the way that these fold up for the carrying case is a bit cumbersome, the extra effort is well worth it in order to protect the headphones from the other items in my handbag. (Which I suspect is why my old headphones stopped playing.) This is truly a quality product and I am greatly impressed. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Headphones Thursday, April 30, 2009 Matt from Buffalo, NY
I was really surprised at the sound quality coming out of these things. I mean, I didn't even know that the older headphones that I had sounded so bad, but, then again, I'm not a serious sound guy. I got these because I wanted a good pair of headphones that folded up and I thought the case sounded like a good idea. My last pair had gotten ruined in my pack, and the case seemed like the best way to prevent that from happening again. And, then when I got these phones, I was shocked at nice everything sounds through them. The folding up and putting in the case is a little annoying, but the sound and protection make the trouble worth it. Was this review helpful?

I ware my headphones a lot and the code is always the first thing to go, the code on these are pretty flimsy. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great sound for a great price Friday, April 03, 2009 A Customer from Reno, NV
I've gone through many pairs of headphones since I've had an MP3 player. I like great sound, but I never wanted to spend a lot of money. I saw the reviews for these headphones and decided to pick up a pair.
The sound is great, the earpads are comfortable, and they're portable. My only complaint is that they leak sound, but that's a problem with open headphones in general. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Wow Tuesday, January 20, 2009 Tkyc from Chicago, IL
These are great headphones buy any standard and for the price they are a steal. I have listened to my new MP3 for hours after buying them which is praise indeed as I am a very critical listener. I currently own one of Sennheiser's most expensive models and yes they are better but it is amazing how close these modest headphones come. For music on the go just buy these things and enjoy. You will not be sorry. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 These are great headphones Tuesday, November 18, 2008 Jim Mc from Seattle, WA
They sound great. Excellent bass. Very crisp, punchy sound. They are very light and comfortable. I really like that they fold up into a nice hard case so that I don't have to worry them getting crushed in my bag. This is my second set. I will be buying a third when these wear out. The last set still work, but one of the wires to the earpieces is cracked and will fail soon. They lasted over three years of heavy daily use. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Highly Recommended! Tuesday, October 07, 2008 A Customer from Logan, Utah
I purchased these headphones over a year ago at a big box retailer. My 24 yr old son 'borrowed' them once - and then he adopted them. He used them on the Utah ski slopes all last season and they held up very well. They have excellent sonic performance for all types of music. I paid full retail for the first set and I'm really happy to find them at Buy.Com at this price. Best bang for the buck! I HIGHLY recommend them. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Sounding and Great Value Headphones Monday, October 06, 2008 Midnight Rider from West Chicago, IL

5 of 5 Great headphones Monday, July 21, 2008 garyt1 from Baton Rouge, Louisiana
This is the first open-air set that I have owned. These provide a great sound for my music. I honestly hear things I did not hear with my old headphones. They stay in place well and are comfortable even after wearing them all day. I use them as headphones in my office. If you are in a very quiet environment, they can be heard by others in the room. Otherwise, they are not very distracting to others. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fantastic Value Wednesday, June 11, 2008 Jeff H. from New Orleans, LA
Got this for my almost-4-yr-old daughter b/c the in-the-ear kind are just way too big for a small child's ears. These are also too big for her, but stay in place pretty well b/c they grip tight enough. Expect them to fit correctly within the next 2 or 3 years, and expect them to last longer than that-sound quality and craftsmanship are great. Also, although I would use them with any music storage or playing device, we only use them in the car with her DVD player, and unlike another review said, I don't find that I can really overhear them when she is using them--and I drive a 2008 Lexus GS that is an extremely quiet car. Maybe if you were in an very quiet room, like a library, but otherwise not a problem, as even low/light background noise would drown this out. Better sound quality and craftsmanship than other name brand headphones 2 or 3-times the price, and as a pro DJ and music enthuiast I know quality speakers and great sound. I even like them so much that I am considering buying Sennheiser's DJ headphone (the one-ear, cup style headphone with the shoulder rest) that is also for sale on Buy.com. Hope this helps people. I am very very happy with my purchase of these headphones. Other reviews were correct that the sound quality is excellent, especially at the price. The one gripe I have is that there is not much padding on the headphones and after a while they do start to physically hurt my ears. That being said, I am sure they will stretch over time and this will now longer be an issue. Bottom line is VALUE. Was this review helpful?

I have had these for a few months now and I can highly recommend them. The treble is clean and clear without being harsh; the base is crisp and deep. I'm still amazed at the strong full sound that is coming from such small headphones. The are extremely light and very comfortable for long periods of listening. There was an initial harshness I heard in the midrange when I first got them, but after they were broken in that disappeared, and I now find the midrange to be smooth and clean. Because they are open back headphones they would not be suitable for use where someone nearby could hear them (like on a train), since sound does leak out, but that open back also gives the sound an openness and tranparence that makes them sound even better. You definitely will hear sounds on your music that you have never hear before. The only negative (and it is a small one) is that I would not buy these for using during workouts, since it can get a little sweaty under the foam earpads. For that purpose you would probably be better off with earbuds. But that minor complaint is not enough to offset the terrific sound of these headphones, so I still rated them a 5. For anything close to this price you can't beat them. Try them. You won't be sorry. Was this review helpful?

You realize how bad some headphones for portable MP3 players are when you put on these Sennheisers! The bass is increadible and the highs and mids are crisp and crystal clear. You'll hear things you never heard in your songs before! My only complaint is that as far as people around you are concerned, you might as well be playing your music through a set of speakers on low volume. Everyone around you can hear exactly what you're listening to. I've never had a set of headphones that you could hear the sound externally as much as you can with these. Small price to pay for such great sound, but you can't use them in a quite environment without disturbing other people. Was this review helpful?

I looked around a lot for better headphones for my iPod - don't like the in-ear type, and read favorable reviews of this one. For $40, they're a steal! They really sound incredible, the bass is beyond my expectations, and mid-range and highs are clean.
Comfortable, fold up into a compact package - a GREAT upgrade for any portable player! Was this review helpful?
