SEINFELD, the show that helped define America's view of New Yorkers as eccentric, comes to a close in this final season. Though it wasn't the first show to assert the rudeness of Gotham's citizens, its characters are selfish to a fault--not that there's anything wrong with that. Self-obsessed comedian Jerry Seinfeld is joined in the cast by his neurotic ex-girlfriend, Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus); his chronically lazy pal, George (Jason Alexander); and Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards), who takes the sitcom cliché of the weird neighbor to impressive new heights. Despite their faults (or perhaps because of them), they're some of the most hilariously watchable characters in television history. The ninth and final season finds George recovering from his fall down the stairs, forcing him to put the "Summer of George" on hold. Having severed ties with the Yankees, he quickly finds another job where he can put his perceived disability to use. While Elaine is busy breaking up with and then getting back together with an ill-suited boyfriend, Kramer is up to his usual hijinks, and Jerry succeeds in finding a whole new series of minor events to obsess over. If you're unfamiliar with Seinfeld--strange as it may seem, there are some hold-outs among us--here's your chance to immerse yourself in the neurotic minutiae of comedian Jerry Seinfeld, playing a slightly tweaked version of himself, and his comrades in dysfunction. There's balding loser George Costanza (Jason Alexander); Jerry's ex, the dance-challenged Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus); and Jerry's certifiable neighbor Kramer (Michael Richards)...While even the series' most ardent fans might disagree with TV Guide naming Seinfeld the number one show of all time in 2002, over such favorites as I Love Lucy, All in the Family and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, there's no dispute that Seinfeld and [Larry] David created one of the funniest and most idiosyncratic series ever aired on network television. "Seinfeld's" final episodes are a fitting cap [if not a perfect fit] to its 9-season run on NBC, most of it as the keystone of the network's successful "Must See TV" Thursday night lineup. Even with its flaws and mixed reviews [including the 1-hour final episode], Season 9 earns its place alongside the other 8, and is way better than easily 90% of TV, classic and current. Still "Must See."
My set, shipped in apx. 8-10 days if I recall, was shrink-wrapped and appeared to be new. Even if it wasn't, the box and the DVDs inside were in excellent shape. I was satisfied. Thanks. Was this review helpful?

I recently purchased the final season of Seinfeld to finish off my collection. After purchasing, I was nervous due to not having a tracking number to monitor where the product was at during transit. This was short lived when the product arrived in just over a week. I would recommend this seller to anyone. Was this review helpful?
