    This is the only printer supported by the company that makes our time-lock safe, so it's not like we have much choice. That said, each unit (this is our third) does its job consistently until we break it (usually after about 2 years of service). As a smoking tavern, our environment is a hostile to electronics as anything you can find in a retail environment, but this unit seems immune to smoke and dust. We also regularly drop things on it (~5 lbs, from about 18") without any impact (pun intended) beyond having to re-attach the paper roll. No data on battery usage, as we use a transformer.
