4 of 5 Worked Fine Wednesday, February 04, 2009 A Customer from Rochester, NY
I bought the HD to replace a smaller one in my Toshiba Laptop. As it turned out, the Restore software didn't like it for some reason (not same drive or same size?). Didn't make too much of a difference though, since I wanted to load XP instead of Vista anyways. Typing this review on the computer it's in now. Works great! Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Worth the upgrade.. Tuesday, December 09, 2008 tj from Eugene, OR
Finally got around to updating my HP DV9200 with 4Gb PC-6400 DDR2 and this drive which replaced the 5400rpm 160Gb that it came with.. With BUY.COM's excellent pricing, it cost less than $100 to gain about a 15% performance gain, which is very good for a laptop..
Only complaint is that this drive draws over .6A and cannot be used in a USB powered external drive case. That's why it only received a 4 out of 5 in overall satisfaction..

5 of 5 excellent HD Wednesday, March 12, 2008 A Customer from Boca Raton - Florida
I installed it on my Sony Vaio laptop and it works excellent. Personally, for me it's not too loud, runs smoth, and runs efficiently. I thought it was going to be the typical thing that they advertise two to five days and you get it in 10 days. It was not the case. I got it in three days well carefully wrapped. It is worth the price, I am very happy and I recommend it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great laptop upgrade Friday, August 10, 2007 A Customer from New York, NY
This is a FAST and QUIET drive. My Lenovo X60 boots and runs much faster than before. Surprisingly, it doesn't generate more heat than the original 100GB 5400rpm drive. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Wonderful Hard Drive! Tuesday, August 07, 2007 Rich from Pasadena, California
Before I decided to buy this hard drive, I was stuck with a Seagate momentus 5400.2 80GB hard drive in my Macbook Pro. I bought my Macbook Pro around when it was first released in 2006 and ever since then I have had countless visits to the nearest genius bar in regards to hard drive, fan, & battery replacements, constant freezing problems, and memory crashing problems (Thank you Apple for giving a 1 year warranty!)
However, now that my 1-year warranty is up (and I didn't buy the extended warranty apple-care, which I highly reccomend you do if you own an apple) once again, I started to get unexpected quits, missing files, constant freezing, and even times when my computer wouldn't even start up!
I went to the genius bar yet again, and they suggested that the issue lies in the hard drive, but since my 1-year warranty is up, I would have to buy and install it myself (unless i wanted to pay $100 for installation at the nearest third party apple retailer). I decided to do my research and after I examined many different hard drive specs on multiple hard drives, I decided to buy this one. As of right now, my computer has been running at lightning speed, with no freezing or start-up problems! The amount of storage has doubled in size making it much easier to store all of my music.
The only issue that I have found, as some would expect, is that with the 7200 mbps hard drive, my macbook pro has increased in temperature than before (especially up above the function buttons on the keyboard). As with all macbook pro's, overheating has been a known concern, and as I continue to have some concerns about this, all apple users continue to tell me that it's normal. If you are as cautious as I am about it, I reccomend buying the icurve (or similar product) to allow more air to the bottom of your computer to keep it as cool as possible.
Overall, thanks to this hard drive, I am a strong advocate of Seagate and Apple. I highly reccomend this hard drive to anyone who is looking to upgrade their hard drive to a faster 7200 hd. Was this review helpful?
