I've had this portable HD for about a month and it has woked really well with my iMac. It's really light and portable and just a little bigger when compared to an iPhone. It also looks well made and doesn't feel cheap or that it could break just by putting it in my backpack. Since it comes formatted for PC the first thing I did was to convert it to HFS+ so my iMac could read/write files. I also got rid of the software that comes included in it. The transfer ratio is good enough for me. I have been copying large files and folders (With MP3s, photos, etc) and those are usually over 10 GB. It takes about one minute to transfer 1 GB of information so for my needs that's an acceptable speed. The USB cable that comes with it is short but that's because it's a portable HD and you're supposed to keep it near the computer you're using. Not a big deal for me since I can use any of the other USB cables I have around the house. So far I have only used the one that comes with it and hasn't given me any problems.

I have had this external hard drive for a few weeks now and I am in love with it. I have never bought a hard drive before but my roommate just bought a 500GB one and his is so bulky compared to mine. He also needs a power cord too, what an idiot lol. The first thing I must mention is that I am so happy that I do not need a power cord. I use this thing during class, during work, and to rip movies onto. The ability to just plug and store has won me over. Next I will talk about the feel and look of the drive. This drive is not shiny so it will not leave fingerprints all over it and it also have a texture to it that keeps it from slipping out of your hands easily if you have clammy hands like I do. This drive feels anything but cheap. The drive has a plastic metal combination on it which makes me feel a lot better if I would ever drop it. I also enjoy that the light that turns on when plugged in isn't annoying to sleep with. I hate light when I'm sleeping but I can definitely sleep well when the drive is turned on. Oh and I like the ability to turn off the light when you use the manager program that comes on the drive (not on a CD). I have read that some people say the cord is too short but I disagree. I works perfectly well for what I use it for. I use this for mainly work, school, but I also use it with my new WD TV™ HD Media Player that I use to watch all my movies and TV shows that I have ripped into .avi format throughout the years. Pros -Large Capacity with small size -Light can be turned on or off with manager -easily move 20 gigs of storage in about 5-7 minutes -Texture and looks keeps drive looking new -Does not get very hot or even warm for that matter Cons -Possible short cord (I don't mind the size) -The manager software is kind of useless in my opinion but I only used it a few times so I could be wrong.
