5 of 5 Solid Performer Wednesday, November 26, 2008 A Customer from Olympia, WA
I use 2 of these to store media and other than seeming to run a bit warm, they're quiet, reliable, and fast. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Great buy! Tuesday, August 05, 2008 A Customer from MI
Super fast free shipping, and a great product. Only negative does not come with Sata data cable nor the mounting screws. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 The external drive is the same drive plus enclosur Wednesday, February 20, 2008 A Customer from City, CA
These drives seem decent. I haven't had any problems with them. I'm writing this review to point out that if you get the external version (freeagent), you can cut out the drive and it will be cheaper. Was this review helpful?

The good news is that this is a big drive for the money. What they didn't say clearly enough, that I probably should have figured out myself before ordering, was that a SATA drive requires both a different interface cable and a different power supply cable (it uses a different connector on the motherboard too, and NO cables are supplied). So the process of installing this drive involved getting hold of these cables after I received the drive.
Since installing the drive, I began experiencing some system halts, so I ran CHKDSK and found several errors on the first pass over this newly formatted drive (XP/NTFS). Hmmm. Was this review helpful?
