Seagate's 5 yr warranty is the best in the business. This drive installed without any problems and works great. It's not the fastest. However I didn't buy it for speed but for the storage capacity. I recommend it and would buy it again. Was this review helpful?

It works great, very fast easy install. I'm using it in a Mythtv PVR running on Ubuntu. The only issue I've had is that it gets a little loud when deleting a big file. But right now it's still sitting outside of the system, so hopefully once I'm done and close it all up I won't hear it anymore.

In my opinion, Seagate is the only brand to trust with your important data. To date, I've never had one fail on me. If you're buying a large hard drive, Seagate is the way to go...especially considering their competitive prices and dependability. Was this review helpful?

I will say that I have enjoyed this product since I received it. The software that comes with it make it remarkable easy to transfer your old hard drive to this new one. Since I have an older motherboard I am not able to take advantage of the 3gbs transfer rate, but it still performs well.
I'd recommend this drive to anyone upgrading there hard drive or increasing storage capacity internally. I gave the value a 4 due to the price being lower now than when I purchased it a month ago. That is to be expected when it comes to electronics.

I've owned this Seagate Barracuda drive a few short weeks. Installation as a back up drive in my PC was simple and complete in about 10 minutes. SATA and the Seagate installation software made setting up the slave and master pin setting a thing of the past. I selected how my drive would be used from the menu and then it completed in about 5 minutes.
Truely 5 minutes to install into my PC and 5 minutes for software selections. Who could ask for more?
Yet, the drive itself has operated flawlessly as well. It's runs very quietly. After installation I had approximately 465 GB of workable space.
Great drive and great deal at Buy.com. Shipping was fast as usual too! Was this review helpful?
