4 of 5 Great Performance for the Money Tuesday, November 18, 2008 Lisa from Alhambra, IL
This is our first laptop. We purchased it for our daughter who is attending school online. She hasn't started her homeschooling on this system but she seems pleased with everything she has done on the laptop so far. Considering the capability, this was a great buy.

5 of 5 Second time's a charm Monday, November 17, 2008 Alan from Dallas, Texas
This is the second time in four years I've bought a Toshiba laptop through Buy.com. Buy.com does a great job of packaging products like this, and they make it easy to order. Great job! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great computer, good price Sunday, November 16, 2008 Sharol from Emporia, KS
I bought 2 of these when they went on sale in October. We were looking for laptops for our daughters for Christmas and we had some minimum standards. We wanted Windows Vista Home Premium, at least 2 gigs of memory, a decent sized hard drive, and a dual-core (not necessarily core 2 duo) processor.
With these machines we got more than we bargained for. They shipped with 3g of memory and a 200g hard drive, DVD burner, and a built-in webcam. The webcam is not quite as high res as the external one that the older daughter already owned, so she is planning to use the external camera, but the younger daughter didn't have a web-cam and is finding this one satisfactory.
I was puzzled when I was setting the two computers up because they were not configured the same way (from the factory). One of them had the "silent" boot enabled, the other didn't. One had the wireless card turned on at the front switch, the other didn't. It was almost as if one of the computers (not sure which one) had been out of the box. However, both were factory sealed and both ran quite well.
I installed Office on both machines and timed the installs. They were within 10 seconds of the same install time. The battery life (first use) was almost exactly the same. The batteries lasted about 2 hours while playing a DVD movie. Not great, but not awful.
The computers have a slightly larger screen than my Dell D620, a weigh somewhat less. The outside size is also just a tiny bit larger than my two year old Dell. The screen is sharp and clear, though it does reflect a bit more light than the Dell. The native resolution, 1280x800, is a bit low for me, but both girls really like it. The movies look great on it.
For a mid-range laptop that will be used mainly for e-mail, web-surfing, and a bit of web page design, this machine is great. We gave these to the girls shortly after they arrived since the warranty clock was running. Neither has reported any problems not related to adapting to Vista (which, by the way, seems to be working great for both of them.) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Buy Sunday, November 16, 2008 Joel P. from Warner Robins, GA
This Toshiba laptop is an excellent buy. It's fast, easy to setup for wireless networks, light to carry, and loaded with both hard drive memory and RAM. Would highly recommend for student or home use. Was this review helpful?

So far all is good with this toshiba computer. Sorry I was a way and only started to use it 2 days ago. Very fast when signing onand to internet connection. Not sure why will not accept my printer but when I get a chance will look into that problem, may be vista. All and all seems to be a good product. Was this review helpful?
