This is more like a mobile TV wall mount unit with built-in stand as it will lets you neatly mount your TV on top of stand. Excellent design and very solid materials. You will have to carefully plan how many AV cables and how you want to run these through their "wire management channel" inside the aluminum shaft as it is rather narrow and I would not recommend any component cable inside as it will take most of space. As long as you go with 6' or shorter HDMI cables for 3 to 4 AV equipments, this unit will nicely complement and finish your home theater setup. Was this review helpful?

I researched some 6 months before I purchased this stand and must say this is one of those purchases I highly recommend to all people. The price is almost $200 or more expensive than 'conventional' looking TV stand with some shelves but once you get your LCD or plasma mounted on the center pillar which is made of matte finish aluminum, your home theater/HDTV will come alive. It does have small room/space inside the center pillar where most of your signal cables from and to your equipments will be hidden but opting with HDMI cables instead of component cables will leave you with enough of space to stack the stands with decent amount of gear. I received it today and was a little worried as I had not yet viewed it in person. It's everything I dreamed it would be and more. I've put many items together in my day, but never have I witnessed such an organized parts bag with every piece labeled. This stand is rock solid easily supporting my 40" LCD. The hidden wires take some time to organize but it's very much worth it. It's like having all the benefits of wall mounting your tv except you can move it around. You're not stuck in one spot forever. Definitely the way to go! And of course the buy.com price beats everyone even with shipping. Was this review helpful?

I thought this was rather expensive (although cheaper than other retailers) for a silver tube and three glass shelves. However, it is very sturdy, matches our compenents, and made of quality material. The ONLY negative about this is that, although the wire management system is large, we found it difficult to run all of the wires to conceal them. After a couple hours of determination we got the job done. The hard work paid off because this is the perfect finish for our plasma tv! Was this review helpful?

The stand is great. I looked at several of the big box stores for some type of a stand for my flat panel, and then I came across this from Buy.com. It provides you the "best of both worlds" by affording you the "on the wall" effect without having to incur the cost of the additional wiring and hiding of accessories.
