5 of 5 Surprisingly great for the price Friday, July 10, 2009 Rob22315 from DC metro
The MDF 'fake wood' and finish are both excellent on these stands. If you're reasonably careful about getting the screws started, you won't have any problem assembling these. I had no splitting problems with my stands. I used velcro to hold the speakers onto the little tables.
The only parts that were less than excellent were the carpet spikes. They went into the bottom portion of the stands fine but the rounded tips don't go into the carpet easily. Otherwise, these speaker stands are an excellent buy. They look great holding my Energy C-50 satellites. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Speaker Stands for the price! Wednesday, April 15, 2009 John Balz from Dallas, TX
I was hesitant as to the quality and appearence of these speaker stands as they cost so little. I gave it a shot and was glad I did. For the price, these were actually very nice little speaker stands. Once put together they look quite nice and do the job with my bookshelf speakers. Build quality was good, appearence good, and assembly was quick and easy (I didn't experience any problem with wood splitting like I noticed in other reviews). You can spend significantly more on speaker stands, but if you're on a budget and want quality and good looks, these Sanus stands are an excellent choice. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Functional and good value. Monday, March 30, 2009 Vincent from Texas
I had a pair of tSc bookshelf speakers that needs stands to go on next to the tv, and these stands compliment the speakers pretty well. These stands matches the color of the speakers and gave it a pretty good height, slightly above my setup ears level. On one of the stand's legs, when I screwed in the nails, they cracked a little bit, even though the holes are pre-drilled. One of the pre-drilled holes also got paint peeled when I screwed a nail in, but it's hidden in the base board so it's ok. Just be careful when putting them together. The product itself looks fine when delivered, but the box it came in was pretty damaged from delivery. Was this review helpful?

I needed to get my floor standing speakers to ear level to really hear the sound.
I am amazed with how much it helped the sound.
This Set of speaker stands worked so well I will be buying another ASAP for the satellite surround speakers.
They look great in black color. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Very Nice Monday, December 15, 2008 Chris from Provo, UT
I shopped around and could never find a basic stand at a good price. Found these on BUY for less than half the in-store price. Easy to assemble. Look Great. The theater system sounds much better now that the front speakers are at the proper height. Sturdy stands! My 10 lb Onkyo speakers fit nicely and the stands provide a stable base. Excellent value! 5 of 5 Best Value Tuesday, May 20, 2008 Ed Retych from Island Lake, IL
Don't think you can beat these stands for the price (or twice the price). They were a snap to assemble and look great. Everything fit beautifully. The only modification I recommend is to enlarge the wire hole in the top pad if you use monster cable (easily drilled).
Once again buy.com delivered an excellent product in record time with no hassles at all. They are number one on the web! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Attractive and Functional Sunday, May 18, 2008 http://www.geocities.com/dlazer11/cheapaudio.html from Hartford, CT
The BF series speaker stands are the best option for small monitor speakers when cost is the main consideration. The top plate is 5 inches square and the pillars are V-shaped that attach to the sturdy base. For added support and decoupling the speakers from the floor, Sanus includes carpet spikes. I especially like the black powder finish. One of the pillars cracked at the base when I was assembling them and I assume it was a defect because the wood screw went in straight and easily. Sanus did supply a replacement pillar at no charge, however - way to go!. The only quibble I have is that they include very tiny triangular rubber isolating pads that attach to the top plate. How much more would real square pads add to their manufacturing costs, like NOTHING? Anyway, it's a good product and I would definitely buy Sanus again. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Excellent Value Sunday, April 06, 2008 Ben from Naperville, IL
I was planning to build my own speaker stands because I couldn't find a decent set of speaker stands for under $80. That all changed when I found the Sansus stands at Buy.com. These stands are inexpensive, easy to set up, look terrific, and are very sturdy for their size. I'm very pleased with these stands. My only complaint is that the included foam pads have a poor adhesive. I had to use glue to get them to stick on the stand. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 The perfect solution at an awesome price Saturday, January 05, 2008 Matt G. from Edison, NJ
Picked up these stands for a Philips 2.1 surround system, since the speakers exeeded typical weight constraints of small stands, and I am VERY pleased. Don't let "Basic Foundatons" curb your purchase; I find these stands very well constructed and fairly high-end for this price. These babies are extremely well constucted and beautifully finished, with heavy wood and smooth edges. Assembly with a phillips-head screwdriver was very easy, requiring little time and effort. Directions were fine. The stands hide the speaker cords well, and much more easily than small stands because of the hollow, triangular shape of the stands. For once, no annoying threading of wires because the back of the stand detaches! ONE GRIPE... the pass-through holes for the speaker wires are probably 0.5" in diameter, which is too small for most cheaper surround systems with those giant, proprietary connectors, like mine. But I managed to run the wires around the back of the bases and still push them into the stand, again because of the hollow triangular sape, and the back of the stand snaps into place and holds the wires beautifully, even though it certainly was not designed to do so! As a result, though, I will have to anchor my speakers to the stand with my own means, due to this setup; I plan to simply stick on some of those EZ-Pass velcro-type fasteners. That said, all in all, this is still an excellent item that is well worth the price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great value from Buy Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from SE PA
These are a terrific value and look surprisingly good in my home theater, given the low price. Be patient with assembly, taking good care to make sure wood screws are lined up in the right spots before tightening, and construction will be solid. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Decent stand Friday, June 08, 2007 A Customer from Dallas, TX
It's a good, decent stand. The wood is a little low quality, but as long a you don't screw the screws too tight you'll be OK. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great speaker stand at a great price Monday, January 29, 2007 A Customer from Provo, UT
I have the Polk R-15 satellites as my surrounds. They were originally sitting on the back of my couch until I got these stands. They are at the perfect height for listening, and look great to boot. They have a wide base for stability and a sufficient base on top to support my Polks. The one complaint I have is that the rubber speaker supports that attach to the speaker base are flimsy and don't stick very well. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good, cheap stands for bookshelf speakers Friday, January 19, 2007 XBox 360 HD Stereo Surround System User from Eugene, OR
Assembly is a bit cumbersome trying to keep everything balanced while lining up the screws and holes. I ended up putting a minor split in one of the legs while trying to line up the top screws, missing the hole and screwing in one of the wood screws too far to one side. Luckily the split is in the back and not noticeable. Once assembled, these stands look very nice and are sturdy enough for my 15-20lb Infinity Entra One bookshelf speakers that I use for rear surround. The price on these stands are definitely the selling point! Was this review helpful?
